250w/400w purchase quetions help me out

okay guys i've been growing for a while with cfl's but there always such a mess to fuck with and you need a hole bunch to get a decent yeild. so i've been wanting to get more serious with an hps. my space is 2x4x6.
1. well a 250w work or should i bump to a 400??
2. i have no idea where to buy a ballast for this shit can you give me a website.
im on a pretty small budget so the cheapest the better thanks guys
 
i was gonna say htgsupply.. i would say go with the biggest size you can and not have issues with heat.. you won't regret it down the line.

lumatek i beleive now makes a 250w/400w switchable ballast, so if the 400w is too hot then you can just throw in a 250w bulb and set the dial to 250w. may not be the cheapest way to go but its a safer bet than just buyin a 400w to find out its too much!

i got a hydrofarm 400w ballast from craigs list for $50. works just as well as my sun system i paid almost $300 for.
