250w coated mh question.

are the coated metal halide bulbs any good?? i have acquired 4 of these, would love to try them out but are they worth it?? im not sure if i can post links in here but this is the bulb i have http://www.1000bulbs.com/250-Watt-Metal-Halide-Bulbs/40035/

I would expect that you could use them ... though I'm unsure about the coated status? but light energy is light energy in different wavelengths and different intensities ..... I know there has been ongoing debate on the comparative use of MH-HPS-CMH ..... and flourescents and CFLs as well. I tend to take a rather simplistic view .... give it sufficient light with adequate food and water, and protection from elements/predators ...... and she'll grow like the weed she is ... Walk on!!~~~~~

Yea if it is the proper spectrum and grow wavelengths you should have no problems. But if it isnt thats alot of energy and money wasted.

i have a 250w mh with 8 23w 2700k cfls. not the best combo but its working pretty damn well.. but i agree with the above just give it sufficiant light and good water and nutes and she should do fine!
