Why is White widow a trick strain to grow? my look good so far....

What I meant by a "tricky" strain to grow, is that you need to be careful with them as they are very sensitive and also you may find that you have no choice but to tie parts of it down! (
They have a tendancey to bolt during flowering) (Not my experience, a friend warned me off as this is my first time at indoor growing too)

But on the other hand though HotSpliff, yours are looking sweet as...

(My advice would be (if you haven't already) is get yourself a pad of paper and make notes of what you feed them and when, how far into veg they were when you first topped them, and also how they respond to all of the above too) that way, you know for your next grow, what they seemed to like, what they don't like - a little tip given to me by my friend who's been growin trees for years! :peace::twisted:

Yea, heard it was a tricky strain to grow, but its a personal fav of mine, so had to try n grow it,

I topped one of the plants about 3 weeks into veg stage i think, seems to be doin well atm... you can see where 2 nice buds hopefully will form, (will take some pics of it next time)

I must admit, its the 1st bit of weed I buy everytime I go to the Dam (I've been 12 times, once a year for the past 12) LOL

However, I'm a northern lights lover myself - the taste, the smell and the high too... BUT, yet another tricky strain to grow - I'm pushing my luck with my next grow - one of my favourite tasting weeds from Barney's last year was Honey B - Got a moderate growers rating and my seeds arrived 2 days ago although my Short rider 9 weeks from seed is nearly six weeks old and still in an immature veg stage (she smells nice though) ;)

:peace::twisted:

quick couple of questions, if someone doesnt mind answering them...

1 : would this be start of veg stage ??

2 : how can i raise humidity, i have a ltr of water inbetween plants, but it still sometimes sits on around 40, ... plants are best kept around 50% humidity aint they ? do i need more water ?

thanks for looking, will keep updated, as much as i can... penny for ya thoughts...
i had this same problem, you can raise humidity quite alot very easily by buying eithier at water heater (for aquariums) and pop it in water and turn the temp up,

or you can buy a Pond fogger of (ebay or maplin), round £20, put the pond fogger in water and it'll create a mist around the unit.
This mist can be between 5-100 microns in size, plants can absorb quite a bit larger then that. This would allow you to feed the plants directly through the leaves... brilliant!!

I'd say def go with the pond fogger it raise humidity, it can take it well over %70 in a controlled enviroment, bare in mind that fans exhausting air will also continously decrease the humidity.

Sorry, i know this post is late, and your well into flowering, but maybe for your next grow or any noobs out-there wondering the same thing!

in flowering keep you humidity as low as possbile, high humidity can cause mould to grow on buds.

love to see continous pics to see how they grow, get some close ups of the nodes and flowering sites if you can please!!

Great job man! inspiring!

Humidity around 60% sometimes goes up to 70% anyone have any ideas how to lower it a bit, ...hmmm, think i might add another in-take fan and ducting, from the hole where the cables enters (top of tent)

Still feeding them Bio-grow & bio-bloom, Bought some plant ties & 4" plant net mesh, (tidy things up in tent a bit)

Your recent pics look good mate, bet the babies look much better now though?? how did you get on with the heat on the southeast coast today? F*ckin hot wasn't it? I'm worried that its gonna get hotter aswell..

but saying that, a friend of mine said to me earlier "You've chosen the right time of year to start your first grow, coz if you can grow in the summer you can grow all year round and winter will be a doddle for ya" which kind of made sense to me! :D

Startin to get small buds on em now ...

Temp 26-27
Humidity - 50 - 60%

Im going to add another in-take fan and ductin, thro the top hole in the tent, and add another small fan inside (more air flow), hopefully this will get the humidity down a little...

Still feeding em bio-grow and bio-bloom
