graft em, they don't take up a lot of space... no leaves, you see...OMG- there are soooo Many of them cat !! Hell, I'm worried I planted 2-many for my space- Looks like i'm going to end up with quite a few.- Great germination rate on these new ones i have-
Tell you the truth cat, rt now we're broke as fuck, so getting seed stock to graft onto is going to be a challenge. I will probably have to just let them grow naturally for a while. So many thing going on - 2014 has been "one of THOSE years" for me... to say the Least. Hoping for the best with these little seedlings![]()
Thanks C.C. - I am hoping this slow-growing cactus will do okay (my last seedlings did fine) but i only had 5. This time, I've got a litter !!they'll be fine, you can keep them in that starter tray for a year![]()
they'll be fine. forget about them for two weeks at a time, then mist/water them, repeat. nothin' to it.Thanks C.C. - I am hoping this slow-growing cactus will do okay (my last seedlings did fine) but i only had 5. This time, I've got a litter !!
How much do you think they'll grow in one year? Maybe pea-sized? When should i bottom-water to let the roots soak up moisture? Sorry for all the questions cat, but i'm just Curiousthey'll be fine, you can keep them in that starter tray for a year![]()

Thanks cat -mist water them, every two weeks to a month, whenever the soil goes bone dry. after a year they should be approximately half the size of a small marble, or slightly larger than an airsoft bb...
any timeThanks cat -
OMG.. this really IS a cutting-edge (pun intendedbetween a year and a half to two years; 6 months on the graft stock to get to the size of a baseball, two weeks after removing the scion to callous, a month to root, and year on own roots to produce alkaloids to full and natural quantities.
here's ten pereskiopsis spathulata cuttings for 35 bucks on ebayOMG.. this really IS a cutting-edge (pun intended) way to propagate them. They grow SO much faster..! As Soon as I can get some stock, i'm gonna give this a try - Your cacti are truly beautiful Cat !
Thank you for the thought bro, and I will check out e-bay for P.S. cuttings as soon as possible. Hopefully I can graft them (even if they're a bit older).here's ten pereskiopsis spathulata cuttings for 35 bucks on ebay
if i still had any i'd give you some; it literally grows like a weed... i gave all my cacti away when i moved a few years ago. i'll get more when i get somewhere permanent again.
you can graft any size at any time, and you can graft to almost any thing (cacti speaking). some stocks are better than others. ie, p.s. is so fast that the buttons pup like crazy, instead of staying a single button, but they get huge quick. grafting to any trichocereus is still fast, but keeps them from pupping so much, maybe half the speed of ps. i graft to t. peruvianus and macrogonus after they get too big for the pereskiopsis. blue myrtle is probably the best to graft to and keep them natural looking; it's faster than natural, but a little on the slow side. hylocereus works ok, but it's hard to find dragonfruit that's thick enough...Thank you for the thought bro, and I will check out e-bay for P.S. cuttings as soon as possible. Hopefully I can graft them (even if they're a bit older).
Very Nice cat !! I've had really bad luck dosing on trichocereus (pachanoi, and Peruvianus) from various online vendors. I got sick for 10 hrs from drinking "S.Pedro Tea" (boiled & strained). I had None of the pleasant, fabled-mescaline effects, but my jaw and muscles clenched & twitched constantly, and i felt like a delirious lump of cat-poo. I don't think there was Any mescaline in that cutting. 3 tries... no trip- Yet. So I am germinating these L.W. seeds as a final act of defiance..lol. I'm going to embrace the wonderful Mescaline, even if it takes some time5 about the size of a large orange puts me in the gods' backyard.
if you're like me, you'll keep putting it off, lol. i loved my lil babies, even named a handful of them. i hated to cut any, but when i did, i crowned them, leaving a few side aeroles to pup from. they grow back pretty fast that way, with a large root system.Very Nice cat !! Yeah, i think it will be hard for me to harvest them, once they have been my friends for so long... I cut the whole top of and leave the bottom rooted, and new pups will form. Thanks a bunch, Have a great nightif you're like me, you'll keep putting it off, lol. i loved my lil babies, even named a handful of them. i hated to cut any, but when i did, i crowned them, leaving a few side aeroles to pup from. they grow back pretty fast that way, with a large root system.
