i thought u said u DON'T count from when u flip to 12/12????? Now we do?? **confused**** yes from what Ive been reading 600 has more usable light for the girls..and you know I want only the best for my girls...thinking of getting 3-600's and sellin the 1K, probably cost the same to run that 1k magnetic ballast as 3 digital 600's, got the mylar all up everywhere in the new grow area...moving them big girls is goin to be a bitch..but the condensation in my house is ridiculous!!!

hey scrog...great seein ya again...yes I don't have 1 boy showing as of yet...though my money is the tall 5 ft skinny one is a boy, he has no hairs, but no balls, neither...but to be THAT big and not show sex yet when the other white widows have, he is more sativa dom than the others, too though..here I am calling it a "he" I hope not...but out of 10 reg seeds...and only 6 living plants, what are the odds they'd all be female...exceptionally rare I am thinking..ok so I only have 1 "yet to be determined" 8 showing female, and the others are feminized seeds, so surely most likely will be females. Those are some damn good odds!
I'm loving this...I almost don't want to wait until harvest to start my hydro grow...so psyched about it..need to understand a few things better first though..like PH rise and fall and ppm's rising and falling and what they all mean...oh and the most scary part...the math involved in adding back nutes to the res..go thru nutes WAY too fast if ya change the bugger every week! I guess it's just aiming for the target ppm...and I have that 3 way meter that dangles in the res so it should be easy to track.
Not going to get all flummoxed over it now..sweet dreams all...and happy growing!

you don't start counting till now...some have a lot of pistils...they look like they been flowering for two weeks...and the odds are 70% of seeds are female but keep an eye on all of the for hermies from now on...Hydroponics is simple if you let it be...all the stuff you said about PH and PPM is simple...and adding back nutrients is easy just add full strength nutrient to the till you hit your ppm...most people don't know that your really only adding back nitrate that's why greenhouse calculate by Nitrate...in a greenhouse they don't change there res for years sometimes...but that's off topic...good to see you excited

The realllly tall one who I can't tell sex on yet, I am thinkin he may be a he.
Though I can't see anything by naked eye, took out the 80x magnifier and looks like a round thing where the pistil is supposed to be, kind of always thought since that 1 got so tall so fast it would be a boy..he has casts on 2 stems, they were a bit on the weak side when I did lst LOL...Ok I will wait until I can confirm with eyes, just to make sure..grew tall so fast didn't have time to get much diameter on side stems, oh well..may use some of his pollen if he turns out a boy,it has grown fast and never given me any troubles with nutes, I like that, plus he's a white widow, which I am sure would make an interesting 4 way with my 3-way thc snow. but I will lock him up in the spare bathroom with lotsa windows on the other side of the house if he is..just give him the "greenhouse" effect.I'm sure there will be enough light in there to do what little he has to do.Then I can take one of my fav girls and light a candle and put her with him for a day and see what happens, hopefully an awesome strain that grows tall n fast and flowers fast, huge nuggs would be a huge plus.
Not having to get screwed on buying seeds: Priceless. I am getting a couple clippings of Willy nelsons strain, which is amazing and already mixed with WW (white willie)from a friend, that was the best most flavourful pot I have ever smoked..usually they all smell/taste the same to me since I am a newer smoker, this one wow...excites the senses,POPS when ya inhale it with flavors so complex I can't put words to it! and was a total creeper, 3 hits had me ^ as a kite for 5 hrs, not only that it was amazing on my muscle spasms and pain, I may have to leave her just the way she is.
On the hydro...don't you have to calculate and add back so much micro and so much bloom (if doing lucas) and/or grow, too. Though micro has more N than "grow" does, don't make much sense.
I reallly want to start up the ebb n grow..I bought that thing in September or something crazy and really have yet to work with it in working condition (I did the floods n drains manually)now I have the brand new pre tested brain, I am so ready to go!
I had a good friend ask me yesterday if I would grow her 15 for her when I showed her my plants, I explained that reallly this is my first grow, she didn't get that i would want more experience before being in charge of someone elses meds, she was crazy impressed by the girls, and she used to grow and thinks I'm ready 4 the challenge.
another 6 pots for the ebb&grow is about 55 bux..need 2 for 30 spaces,since I have 18 already. Man, that would be a WALL of green!!

once you mix up the powder it doesn't need occasional stirring? I have 2 airstones on a 2 outlet aquarium air thingy, I used that to keep the res o2^ and everything mixed nicely..cheap is good at this point, my days of magic bullets are over, in fact, hope to get even more simplified.I did do the 2x of each of the 3 FF solubles on certain plants, just to see if theres a notable difference, so far only diff I see is the ones who got the scant dose have some browning on old fan leaf edges, and the one who may have ram horned from it is still the same, even ram horned newer growth, but she's packed with pistils.Will that foliage problem effect the quality of the bud?
Also was wondering..I want to keep my leaves as dark green as possible through flowering,was thinking every 2nd feed maybe add a bit extra N x 2 perhaps? Not having any issues as it is early..but I don't want to finish with yellow wasted leaves.
But too much N will effect the taste? I read a few places using extra veg nutes in early flower is good (like the 1st few weeks) so ya don't yellow out by harvest time.
I think my plants could be a deeper green, they are too light for my liking, but I am just glad they're healthy and thriving at this point in the game.

Ok so if they've been flowering 2 weeks i count back, b/c 1 strain is a very early gal (7 wks according to nirvana)and I will have to know all of this so I can flush long enough and all that, what %'s of amber trichs, other signs u go by ques you in that your about 10 days from harvest, so I have an idea of what to watch for.

and another thing I never gave thought to..I bought those cloth type "root pouch" pots, water will seep through them, but kind of slowly, how will I flush using them, hmmm..if I put holes in the bottom they won't be reusable and will ruin them, I guess I can put down a tarp under them when I do the flushing.
When you flush it's not all at once, right, you just give 3x the pot size every 3 days x 10 days? Is that enough to rid the mix of all the chemical ferts?
Think I am actually getting nervous that it's actually going to happen this time! Exciting, but intimidating at the same time.
And I want it super clean, oh you said you were interested in yucca, I did try that sledgehammer yucca flush crap on 3 plants, it made the claw situation spread all the way up to the top on that 1 plant I yanked last week, and another isn't looking great, either. With no other differences, I'm left to think it may have been something in the flush, it's only 10% saponin from yucca..guess i need to find out what the other 90% is besides expensive water.
Man, apparently saponins lower cholesterol in humans and primates, and it's the "thing" in red wine that makes it good for your heart. Interesting tidbits. lol.

UH OH...got to looking closer at the ones "not showing" pistils yet, even used my lil mag glass, and I don't know why I didn't notice this sooner, I thought they were maybe late flowering ones..whatever...are these for sure males, I think the ones with the ball looking things are definite, but 1 I can't tell...well THAT just shrunk my garden by 3! well 2 for sure, but I figured if they aren't showing yet I need a closer look (I don't have the best eyesight, even w/ glasses)
My question is...did I let them sit in there too long or do they still look immature? Figures the 3 least healthy looking plants, all dudes, go figure!
ZOk someone please let me know, I exiled them to the bathroom on the other side of the house, but want to be certain.

and I just can't really tell on luna, though shes supposed to be a fem seed, I see no really obvious white hairs like on the thc snow, bubble & ww.WTH..my garden is shrinking more by the minute..I want to be absolutely sure with all of them, but especially Luna..shes a huge plant!
Ok so I will take pics of luna...i'm not sure if I've got balls on the mind, but I did see something in 1 spot that may be a problem...will go snap a pic..I get a much better look when I take a pic then look at it on screen..maybe the hairs just haven't grown out yet???!!! Oh man it's going to break my heart if shes a he.

The ones you removed are most likely boy's...Luna is not a boy her limbs are swelling and she is preparing to put on bud...and I did one flower with a white hair...just wait and see don't freakout...<---this gets you in trouble...I will say I can see the Indica in Luna but I like the sativa Northern Lights smoke I've looked for this Genome before I only got it in about one an 10 so your lucky...<---most don't like it because it's slow flowering...could take 9-10 weeks...I'm going to start my grow next week I think...good growing

Oh I'm not chopping them down or anything, just want to NOT end up making tons of seed instead of nice buds.
You think luna is a white widow instead of Northern lights? I do have 1 ww that has 9 blades just like luna on the bigger of the fan leaves, who knows, I MAY have mislabeled, was killing/replanting so much back then it's entirely possible..lol.
Now that I am down 5 plants I am going to go ahead and decide what I want to grow in my new hydro setup, woohoo.,..
Now some of these plants that r boys JUST got repotted only like 2 weeks ago with pricey soil (even put some in those 10 gal cloth pots) is it not advisable to reuse the coir mix? I hate to waste shit as pricey as that was, and they were in it so short a time.So the first set of pics did they all look male to you?
Until I am sure I have them in a bathroom(spare I don't use often) that has huge windows with lots of light in there..didn't want to chop chop till I'm 100% positive they're male. The 1 has a visual cluster (shows up in the larger pic better than I could even see with my eyes)of like 4-5 balls looks just like the pics i have seen, so I KNOW that 1 is for sure.. the others are either extremely slow showing or I'm blinder than I thought.
so u know I'm not jumping into butchering them, lol..I just don't want pollen near those flowers that are starting to fill out nicely..
