On 9/17, I harvested my first crop (MUCH joy!!!), I was SO stoked that I germinated 24 more seeds. I placed them in paper towels on 9/17, and by 9/19, 22 of 24 sprouted. I placed the sprouts into soil using 1 qt paint buckets as containers. Small enough for easy transplant later, but large enough to hold them for around a month or so, if needed.
I have built an adjustable shelf with a 4' floro hood (4 tube) for the seedlings. They will be able to live here until I get the soil mixed for their 4 and 5 gal permanent homes.

Please feel free to comment as this goes on.

Soil: Local nursery soil
Initial soil Amendments: BioTone Plus (4-3-3 plus mycorrhizae) and bone meal (6-9-0)
Lights: 5 400w MH for veg, 5 400w HPS for flower
Ventilation: Dayton 2800 CFM Blower, 8" Flex-duct. Gives me a complete air exchange every 3 minutes.

I had mixed my soil, and had 20 4 and 5 gal buckets ready for transplant, but after reading more and getting some advise from the forum, I re-mixed my soil, adding lime (Dolomite), bone meal, and BioTone starter plus. This gave me a nute value (?) of 10-12-3. Here everything is as of 10/4:

I spent this past weekend transplanting 20 and setting up lights. I have lost one of my MH ballasts (Don't work no mo), so I have one HPS on 4 of them until I can get another MH ballast.
I got a 15 gal Nalgene liquid chemical tank to store de-chlorinated and pH corrected water. I am thinking of getting some more for maybe brewing teas. I'm gonna need at least 1 more for water, 15 gal just aint gonna cut it watering 20 plants.

Here's a before and after shot of the grow area:

I noticed last night that the lights were a tad too close, a couple babies were showing signs of heat stress, so I raised the lights and watered today. No nutes yet. Not real sure when to start nutes, but I'm sure it will be apparent when I do. The tank and hose are a real plus here for watering. Makes life lots easier. I do need at least another one tho.

damn, thats a lot of light for potentially 12 females (hopefully more!). gonna be a great grow-- i'll be watching!
Believe it or not, last time I started 8 seeds, got 8 females. Out of the 30 seeds I have personally started, only 2 failed to sprout. The girl I buy from has grown alot of these seeds, and has yet to get a male. I fully expect 22 females. Thats kind of a problem as I want to get at least 1 male so I can propagate this line. It is obvious from the extreme compacting of the bud that this is from a commercial grow. I have no idea what this is, other than Sativa, or mostly so, but the dope I grew simply fuckin' ECLIPSED the dope it came from. It was completely unbelievable just how good it is, and from what I'm told, I harvested early. I did want that up kinda high, but i just MIGHT let 'em go a bit longer this time. It's a GREAT ego boost when all your friends tell you it's the best they've had in a good long while.
Yeah, I am looking forward to a really nice grow. Realistically, I figure to bring 12 to 15 plants to harvest. The first grow was a comedy of errors. I killed off all but one, but I did get a QP (dried) from that one. It can only get better.

10/18

1 month tomorrow!!! There is a huge difference in growth rate with this grow from the last. all have 7 or 8 nodes and are about 10". I "FIMM" topped 18 of the plants today. I have read and reread the articles on FIMMing, so it's either do or die. I sure hope I didn't fuck up. Thats why I kept 2 in reserve. I'll post pics of the carnage tomorrow.
Started to make some guano tea today, hoping that with enough mixing I could feed tonight. Wrong!! I gotta get a couple more nalgene tanks. 1 for water and 2 more to alternate batches of teas. I just hope that 15 gal will water 20 plants.
Nothing much else is going on with them, we're just playing the waiting game at this point. I don't see any reason to post daily pics and waste bandwidth, I'll just document thoughts (as I get them) and photo document any changes as they occur. I'm so far ahead of the game this time already because I know the date they sprouted, and the date they go into 12/12. Last time (first grow) was an afterthought, and a comedy of errors. I had only a general idea of when they sprouted, and have no real idea when I put them on 12/12. I had only a rough idea where they were at harvest, I only had the trichs to go by, but then, I guess that's enough. Thats my barometer from now on.
