Plant doesn't have much room to grow, is it too late to "top" the middle. I've never topped this particular plant i just hate for it to waste energy trying to grow a cola that was damaged by the hps. And if it isn't how far down can I chop it. Ideally down to the second node. Any advice is welcome. ASAP please

LST it!!! Train it down with some string this will make Produce more bud. Just string it down side ways it will be like having a bunch of main colas all in same size instead of having one big cola at the top you have a bunch. Do you need a example?

tie yarn to the top and slowly over a few days bend the plant over. be very careful not to crack or bend it could cause stress or up to death

Ok well the only issue i have with LST'ing it is the stem is about as wide as a nickel and the plant is about 5ft taller than the bucket. I'm moving it to a new grow room where height isn't so much of a problem, But I am wondering if its too late to chop the central stem down a node or two since the middle got toasted.

Look just tie it from the top maybe 3 nodes down and slightly bend it so that its maybe a foot lower than what it is now just so you have more room. You don't got to bend it a lot

Dont chop, tie it, i have/had same problem, tied it middle oposite way to stop it falling over too, and tied top and bent it a bit, then next day bent some more and so on, and as said before it ill produce lots more due to all the colas being close to light.

I have seen plants much further along in bud than yours topped.
whenever this happens to me I wrap the stem with a little duct tape, and crack it over while bending. My strains have never suffered adversely form this abuse. the top cola develops fine, and the plant repairs itself quickly. the hormones shoot downwards causing the restof the plant to bushout, just like in veg. If your genetics are proven you should have no issues, or top it for the same effect
