Hey guys so i wanna do a mini grow in a 2x2x5 grow tent but i woundering if i should go for a 250watt mh n hps or if 2 300marshydros would be better

a 250w hps plus a 250w mh as in two lights? or one? if one, then i would go with the 2 mars hydro. but if you're using two lights for combined 500w HID i would go with HID.

No just 250 mh for veg n then the hps for flower

You think a 400watt is manageable in a 2x2x5 grow tent like will it make it very hard to control the temperature

i haven't used a 400w in years but i'm able to manage a 600w's heat pretty easily in a 4x4 tent with proper exhaust and in a room with a window a/c unit. so i think if the room the tent is in stays cool enough and you have airflow then you could manage it.

I'm in the prosses of setting my 2x2 up. Have a Mars hydro 600 inbound. I will get it up and running while I put together a COB setup down the road.

Grab a dimmable 400 hps. If temps get to hot just turn that bitch down. If not then you're good to go.

yeah thats what im planning on doing now figured itll be cheaper and should produce a nice little yield

If you wanna go LED, go with COBS. Northerngrowlights makes a nice unit.

Mars is junk. If you want to go with LED, do it right and go with COB's. You will not save money on your electrical bill by using Mars lights. They use Epistar diodes mainly, and they are about 20-25ish % effective, which is actually worse than a quality hps bulb. Heat will be easier to manage compared to hps, but that's about it. Mars lights are dirt cheap, and you get exactly what you pay for.

Go for CMH 315watts they work like a charm. If not buy Platinum Leds or California light works. Ive seen them all at work.
