http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_does_salt_water_kill_plants lol i googled it and this kinda makes sense. it say that if dissolved salts are to high the plants roots will loose osmosis and start revers osmosis and then start to go deficient. most plants can do 1200 of dissolved salts http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/dhtml/knowledgebase.php?faqid=16 and this one has a slew of details on how the different salts can interact with your roots and cause nute block outs much like the ph issues some times found

shit man there is a tone of fine detail around them dame dissolved salts .... going to have to get me a revers osmosis machine to clean my water. i am sure i still would have salt build up but maybe it wouldn't be so bad if i ran all my water through one

Do you have a certain regime hr of changing res and flushing?? Like do u just flush ph water they system for certain amount of time?

well i do know you can drowned your roots. with that said i did 3 floods total about 10 mins each about every other 10 mins so the hole process took about 1 hour but this was cause it was really bad. so normally i guess after a res change ill just add in water ph it run a 15 min flood. drain it then fill it again then put the nutes in and ph it.

I normally just flush at the end with ph correct water! But will be adapting to at least a halfway point flush in the future

Update! day 52!

i am not sure if some of that burn it resent. but maybe not.
cant really tell if any wait has been added since the midway flush but i do see a slight amount of new growth near the canape they really do there best to cover there base

so the ppm is 1100 blinking 1200 ph was 6.0 and dropped it to 5.8 this morning every thing is nice and stable again and the girls are drinking about 1/8th of the 25 gallons per day atm before the flush they were drinking 1/4 of the water. my guess is they were starving for what they needed and Overdosing on the extra salts resulting in slurping up a lot more water then they needed. i guess i may take a few days to really see any improvement on wait and mass of bud but i am hopeful.

out of 12 cola i have about 8 showing brown hairs and mad Crystals forming the other 4 are just enormous and have only built up a nice layer of crystals but 1 of them has a single brown hair Lol

Update! day 54!

that flush was a good thing for sure! they are looking a lot happier

thinking your right though one time per res change and then the MIDWAY flush will be a flush 3 times to completely purge the system. by that time ..say week 4 day 5 or so. the salts would have a build up worse then any other time in theory. it really do not mess with them as much as i thought it might. like all of a sudden not being able to get a hold of coffee for a few hours in the morning. i thought they would with drawl a lil and show a lil deficiency but i was wrong. they seemed to explode when this is done! so yeah its worth the extra effort.

side note though.... the dang flush takes a lot of freaking PH down :/

these babies are starting to mature! i can see them brown hairs claiming up them cola its about half way seems to move up the cola about a inch per day... wont be long now and its going to be time to check my Orbs :clap:

all though i have been checking the all ready mature ones on the canape and i am all ready getting a few milky orbs.. so they may end up having a few amber's.

ok day 1 of flush. day 57. that's 8 weeks and 1 day

so i guess its a 9 week plant :/

so any how i am hoping the cola will be mature by the end of the flush as there is still 4 cola that are not to maturity but there showing a lil bit of signs.

hay HR how often should a change the Ph plan water? is it just when ever ppm is higher then 300ppm ?

as the only flush i ever did before was in coco and it was drain to waist so yeah how often?

The ppm will raise and then stop once it stops then dump and fill back up, repeat this process till it is your tap water ppm

Update! day 58 day 2 of flush.

there starting to show deficient leaf all ready. the ppm stopped going up at 450 so i guess i should be doing a water change...but i am lazy Lol so i guess i will have to do it tomorrow :/

3 of the 4 cola that were behind now have some brown hairs crystals and stickiness mmmm.... i am sure they will be ready by end of the week ..i hope.

some of the buds on the canape are showing lots of milky orbs ...wonder if they will amber before the cola orbs go milky.

there maturing rather fast though it seems. starting to look mighty tasty

cant wait to smoke it Lol :weed:
