Well, things are going ok. Since I placed a 400W lamp, yellowing on leaves has increased. I added the fishmix on ladies' diet again just for 2 weeks. Other than that flowers are bulking up. At the moment I have a 250W HPS and 400W MH with cooltube as light source.

FLOWERING DAY#40

It has been 6 weeks since flowering started. It was going good but when I checked today more leaves were brown from sides in. SLH1 (the tallest one is fine) but others are not that good. There are still green fan leaves but should be worried? I don't think it would be nutrient burn because than all would have brown leaves. It might be nute deficiency. If not I don't know. Well, we will see. It is so close to finishing line

I think it is getting back to track with 3 ladies. I measured the pH of the run-off water on monday and interestingly all 3 was close to 8. I water every other day now. Today the ph of run-off water was 7.2 for all. I am guessing things will get back on track. I used to leave the run-off water sitting in trays under the pots from time to time and will most likely pay the price for that ignorance in form of delayed finish on those three ladies. However, Honey B is doing much better than SLH2 and RF.... Frosty

After I am done with this grow, I am thinking of starting either 2 Super lemon haze from GH or 2 A-1 Haze from Sagarmatha in a simple Hydroponic setup. I haven't decided on the strain yet. Look at the line they used for A-1 Haze, I found it funny "A-1 Haze creates a cannabis Cassanova out of every smoker lucky enough to experience her pleasures."

FLOWERING DAY 46

Well, it is 7th week now. According to GH SLH usually finishes in 8 or 9 weeks. I checked trichomes today and almost half of the trichomes are clouded. I did a smoke check and boy it was such a nice head high which is exactly what I want. I am planning on starting flushing the tallest girl on thursday and leave her in dark starting monday and harvest on thursday evening since it is my girls' morning. Today, I realized I was labelling the other SLH as honey B on pictures. Well up until today I haven't checked the labels on the pots. Man she has so many trichomes and she smells stronger than the tallest SLH. However most of her trichomes are clear yet. Her yield wouldn't be as much as the tallest girl but I am sure she would be a very good smoke. Well we will see. I am hoping to start flushing her next thursday. Since I used only organic fertilizers I thing 1 week of flushing would be enough.

Tomorrow I will be updating pictures since I will get back my camera tomorrow.

Not answering?... I think I missed something. Anyhow, Ladies are about to finish their 7th week. I flushed Selma today and took her out of the tent to leave her in dark till the end of eighth week which is next Thursday. She has just passed 50/50 clear/cloudy trichomes treshold. I observed some amber colored trichomes here and there. Some pictures of her.

I see... Yesterday I couldn't check back here. Indeed she would have. She is tall and interestingly finishing early. I guess if I left her in the tent I would have gotten more amber color trichomes but I usually don't prefer couchlock. I prefer my ladies' THC intact and ready for a good head stone. Oh one more thing I could swear I smelled the hint of lemon. The other Lemon haze, Betty, is covered with crystals and she smells strong. This one doesn't have much reddish brown pistils but Betty has them. I think Betty will be at 50/50 in couple days.

I read somewhere that SLH is best at 30% amber. Supposed to bring out the best flavor. Think it was on Icmag, not sure tho.

hmm, I didn't know that. I thought MJ's peak harvest was at 50/50 for a good headstone with nice body buzz. But well, there are still a lot of things to learn.

Found it. This was written, by Subcool, in his Amber Alert thread..


1. Fully formed but still clear will provide a cleaner ‘up’ high with less sedative effect; this is the best window for heavy Indicas.
2. Fully formed and turning slightly cloudy or milky; this is probably the best time to pick most hybrids available today.
3. Fully formed completely cloudy or milky with at least thirty percent of the heads turning amber; this is usually best window for the late maturing Sativa’s such as Haze. This is also a good window when using the plant primarily for Hash production.

Haha no you are not... not yet ... I already left her in darkness and I am kinda afraid to put her back in the tent. I am assuming some of the trichomes would turn amber if not 30% since I am gonna left her in complete darkness for 1 week.

Hmm Cory, I didn't measure how tall she was when I put her into flower, but I am sure I vegged my girls for more than 4 weeks. If you check the pictures you would notice one took off and got so tall. My tent is 2 meters high so I could say she is approximately 1.5 meters tall.

BigSky I am sure you would love the strain. I currently have 2 phenos. One is sooo full of crystals that when you shed a light on her her buds are glistening and she smells strong, but she is shorter. This tall one has hint of lemon smell. I still have 2 more Fem Super Lemon Haze seeds but I have A-1 Haze from Sagarmatha as well, so I am contemplating which one to grow for my next grow. I decided I am gonna grow just 2 plants this time. I am still coming and going in between soil and basic DWC hydro grow methods. For next couple months I will be out of town on weekends... Decisions, decisions...

UPDATE

Ladies are in their eighth week. I started flushing Betty today as well. However, I will keep her in the tent for 2 more weeks and harvest her on 10th week. This way I would be able to try two different finishing times and see how they differ in taste and all.
