3 13 watt cfl's and a 75 watt Heat lamp for growing?

Hi, i'm new and on a tight budget, 3 13 watt cfl's (maybe i could get 20 watt) and a 75 watt heat lamp mostly in the blue color spectrum, i would keep the heat lamp far away from the plants as not to burn them.
Is this enough lights to start out like 2 plants? I would add more later. The heat lamp is mostly for quality lighting , it says supports plant growth on the box.... It's really high in the blue color spectrum wich i know is good for flowering right? Idk really lol. Any help would be great.

Help!!!

What if i had all the cfls inches away and the heat lamp about a foot away with good reflction? I need them to be like a foot and a half tall with training...

do you only have a small grow box? , I read somewhere that 65w of cfl coverage per sq foot will suffice. but that prob works out at more than 100 w per plant in most scenarios I guess

The heat lamps he speaks of produce a lot of heat and not really a great spectrum for plant growth.
i had some for a veiled chameleon I used to own.

id suggest getting some bigger CFL's

What kind of product do you have? bag seeds? clones?

No matter what you do, you should have some reflection, even if you just get printer paper and stick that to the walls.
Also its advisable to get a fan (even an old computer fan) and have the fan blowing over the plants (but you don't want it to blow too strongly, I think) the fan is to provide natural wind, which basically will make the stem of the plants thicker, stronger and the plant will be better.

13 wat cfl`s are probably gonna be way too weak.

Also, Id advise you to spend as much time looking at what lights are available to you instead of just buying whatever you see first. Especially considering that you are on a budget. Because not all shops have the same products, and some shops have higher prices than others, even though they say that their prices are the lowest.

If you give us your location (country only) Im sure we can help you figure out what might be the best lighting for you to get in your country. But you don't have to tell, its fine.

You COULD get CFLs.. but you could also try "2d 4pin" energy saving lamps. You can get one that has 55w, 3000 lumens and Im not sure about the colour, but I'm positive that you will be able to find the right colours to match both your plants vegetative and flowering stages. and these lights are kinda cheap.

Ideally you will need at least two of them, (that depends on how many plants you have and how you position them) Its my opinion that plants are perfectly capable of sharing light from a single lamp ;) therefore if you have just two plants, you will probably be ok to have only enough lights for one plant but for both plants. (Im a newb though, so I don't actually know. That's just what I imagine)

Anyway, when using these sorts of lights cfl`s and 2d 4pin lamps, they must always be very close to the plants. about 2 or 3 inches away I think.
Also, there may be some assembly involved with the 2d lamps, in which case you'd need to figure out how to assemble it. Its not very hard though.

I just did a google search and these guys seem to reckon that the 2d 4pin lamps are fine.

IMO they are probably better at distributing more light efficiently, unlike CFL`s where half of the light is being blocked by the bulb it self!

yeah I agree, whilst I understand you are on a tight budget and I do sympathise mate, low wattage cfl globes are really cheap now so just try to add some more as you go. On a side note I scored a couple of these 200w cfl's on eBay with holders for about $30 each! they are great SAM_2834.jpg

I'm not sure how to set up the 200 watt's, even the 100watts. I don't know about those 2d 4 pin lamps because don't i need a ballast for all these bulbs? I wouldn't know how to hook them up D: None of them screw into my light fixtures ( My light fixtures are like the standard household ones). I understand stronger lights but which would be easiest to set up???
Ty for feedback all

I know what you mean man, sometimes the easiest route is the only route you wanna take. But Don't worry about which route is easiest.
Just go to the shop and ask the people there to help you out. Ask them to explain to you how to put the pieces together.

I imagine that the 2d 4pin light simply plugs into a 4pin light socket (exactly the same as what you already have) and then you need to buy at least a cable to hook it up to the power.
You could solder the wires together, but you could also just twist them together and use insulating tape (or electrical tape) to tape them up tightly.

It's pretty easy stuff man.. And I know how you feel... its like? you're probably thinking that the mountain is too high for you to climb, right? But its easy az. well, kind of, lol.

btw what are you talking about when you say that you don't know how to set up the 200 and 100watts?
