I have this beautiful 4' tall mother plant (White Berry from seed) that has 8 main stems shooting up from the bottom. All are nearly equal in size and length. I fimmed it at an early age and this is the best result I got from any of my plants. The pictures do it no justice, she's a beautiful woman.
In any case, I did not need clones from it and I still don't need any for awhile (I want them for new mothers now, but not for flowering), so it has not been touched yet (other than my fimming it early on)...so I would like to make a few more mothers from this one, so I need 3 or 4 good clones now.
Now, being that each branch is 3' long+ I am not sure where to cut them. If I cut them 1' from the top (that would be the biggest I could fit in my home made dome), I am going to have a big hollow stem that I will have no way of keeping the air out of. In my very limited experience, I have found it best to cut them from near the main stem of the plant. Still a bit confused on the best place to cut clones from a mother(despite my 100% success rate in rooting them)?
So where can/should I make my cuts on these monsters? Is it OK to cut them 1/3rd of the way down from the top and leaving the rest on the mother?
Also, with the alternating nodes on all of the stems, how will I fim or prune the top to get the clones to grow multiple main branches as the mother did?
