3 gallon or 5 gallon soil containers for Autos?

I've always used 3 gallon fabric pots and squeezed 4 autoflowers into my 3x3 tent.

It gets crowded.
I'm wondering if two 5 gallon plants would accomplish the same approximate volume of growth (yield) with autoflowers or, since they go off so fast, is 3 gallon about all you need??

every growing environment is different so the only way to find out is to try it. my current grow is with photos in 3 gallon plastic pots but the plant got so large that I could only fit 3 into a 4ft by 2 ft closet so I had to set up a separate closet to grow the 4th plant. I currently have 3 plants in flowering in 5 gallon fabric pots and they are 12 inches tall at 5 weeks from seed after being topped once to create 2 main stems. in 3 gallon plastic pots they too 6 weeks of vegging to get this large. so I think that larger fabric pots should give you larger plants considering the faster growth rate that i've seen with photos. of course the strain your growing will have a major influence on that

only difference . small pots you have to water more often . I use 3 /5 /7/ 10/ and 20 / I get the same from a 3 or 5 or a 7 . hope this helps . I have water daily . the 20 gallon every 3 days . depending on size plants lighting humidity .

Mike....I hate that they even exist, only reason I would grow one is so that I could hit it with sticks and make it the new dogs-toilet, pooch has to shit somewhere

with a picture like his . all he is about is hate ignore this guy . im sure he never grow a thing in his life except for his jail brewed toilet brew home made sugar wine . his picture reminds me of jail movies im sure its really him self you can thank roolitup tac for me being nice

I grew my outdoor autos in 7 gallon grow bags and they were plenty big but the 10 gallons were way to small for photo's this year :(. Even with the relentless heat we had the autos did fine, they were think different and the root mass was smallish so perhaps a different strain would require bigger. Just an FYI but the TD was a nice mid summer plant that has swayed me to keep looking at auto's as a outdoor early finish strain.

I use three gallon pots for one reason: they're much easier to handle when I need to move things around. The extra watering isn't a factor for me nearly as much as being able to rotate, move around to trim and the like with a great deal more ease.

I have a very bad back, so there you go.
