3 months + Cure still smells like chlorophyll

So i harvested my last grow 3 months or so ago and dried it, then put it into jars..
Burped as the cure process and got it down to around 55%-57% RH.
Its White Rhino x Mazar also.
When i open the jars, they still smell of chlorophyll/hay or whatever.
But if i smoke it, it wreaks like fuck of dank lol.. is it because its in the jar all sealed or should it
smell pretty good as soon as i open the jar by now?

you must have dried it too fast. as you may have heard/read, when you dry it too fast it doesnt get to burn off that chlorophyll smell, like cut grass. next time try and slow the dry process to one week + before starting cure. Even then, if it is drying so slow that you have to remove it from cure to dry a bit more just as well.

It dried for 7 days i'm pretty sure, and i even took it out a couple times to get it below 70% in the jars!

Maybe this is a case where broveda would serve someone well.

you said you dried it, and put it in jars, is that what you call a cure? you gotta pop those jars 3x a day for a good month to get a nice cure. maybe i read it wrong..
Depends on how dry the buds are when going into the jars.

Curing happens when the jars are NOT opened.
Burping is necessary when the RH gets too high in the jars.

when the stem snaps, they go into the jars. i just assume everyone knows what they're supposed to be doing. there's more than one way to skin a cat. curing imo, happens until they are ready to smoke, in or out of jars.

~59% RH is when I seal them up, if RH doesn't continue to climb that is.

Curing evenly distributes the moisture from the center of the buds/stems to the outer area...
That only happens in sealed environments (vacuum sealed/jarred/etc.)

That's your problem most likely.. Seven days is too long to dry where i live.. I dry about three. You don't want the stems to snap yet when they are just going into the jars you want to leave some of that moisture in the stem and sweat it out slowly so that your bud isn't bone dry by the time the stems are just drying. You either did dry it too fast ( we don't mean too fast as in less days we mean too fast as in let it dry too long and too much before jarring) oooooor Only other possibility is you had a grow issue, some badly grown plants will never lose that hay smell regardless of how you handle the bud after. High temps will leave you with green hay that looked great while growing.

Also have to add another reason that smell sometimes won't seem to go away which is not trimming before you dry...i dry less time than some people but i always trim down to separate nugs when wet which speeds things up and separate away much of that leafy smell from the bud.

i agree about the stems snapping being too dry..i have tried waiting that long, and ime, it just seems that the buds are way too dry when i let them go that long before going in jars...

Have you continued to burp the jar? If you do not burp the jar regularly throughout the curing process, the chlorophyll will not evaporate efficiently which leaves you with that smell. Although I agree with the others that waiting for the stem to snap is way too long to dry for, I don't think that is your problem as you seem to have a good handle on jar humidity levels

but if you initially dry past the 50/55%rh threshold, its past the point of being able to properly cure.

So many replies! Thanks a lot guys.

Okay so to clear things up heres what i did, i dried for 6-7 days until the stems bent.. but cracked when i bend them but not break in half.
I then put them into jars and after a day the RH was above 70%, so i took them out for a few hours and dried them out a bit more.
Back into jars and humidity stayed below the 65% mark and continued to burp the jars daily/weekly untill they slowly got down to 56%rh in the jars, where i left them and haven't really burped them since.
I think i might try burp them cause i haven't really done it in over a month maybe more.. could that be the problem?

Not burping for that long can DEFINITELY cause that problem! Decarboxylation won't occur efficiently either if you don't burp to allow gases to exchange.

I didn't burp every day, left it a week etc sometimes when it got lower RH in the jar.
It stinks to high heaven when it burns but in the jar smells like its still got gasses from the chlorophyll
