3 plants for 1?

yo guys whats up. this is my first time posting and my first time getting involved. but basically my situation is pretty interesting specially since me and my buddy are just starting. We have 4 plants, 3 we are pretty certain are males and the other is the female. ive looked up everywhere trying to find a fully grown male plant so i could see how much bud it produces, but i never could. Right now i think my buddy and i are confused about males. And currently coming from our point of view we were expecting a lot from 4 plants so we need as much as we can so we can pay back for the light and all the shit we bought which was like 320$. So my question keeping that in mind, is would you keep the 3 males and the female just so you can get alteast a good amount of bud from all 4 rather than killing the 3 males and justkeeping the female. We are hesitant with the males because even tho they have seeds, they all have flowers with white hairs on top. So im wondering if they are males, or herms. I dont know if males are JUST seeds and no flower what so ever or if they have everything too. But yeah just wondering what you guys would do. We would even be happy with mids from these plants just so we can have something to bring in money for the shit we bought. haha at this point is quantity over quality cause one of the males is stinkin so nice, its hard to think they are shit in the end :p granted the female is totally the way to go id kill the 3 for sure.

Hehehe you're funny. :) Maybe you need to post some pics so we can look at what you REALLY have. Males have multiple "balls" and they are actually what look like regular flowers when they finally open and drop pollen from the stamen. Female plants have a multitude of white "hairs" which are meant to catch the pollen once dropped. At that point the female begins to develop seeds slowly over the next 3-5 weeks. Males don't provide "bud" from my understanding, but many people here use them in various ways anyway even though popular opinion says the THC/CBD levels are far inferior to unpollinated female plants. Icould have given you the "go read the grow faq" line you'll undoubtedly get from someone. It's extremely obvious that you've not done much research prior to your grow. Read some posts and follow a cpl grows before your next attempt would be my advice.

check out the pics in the growfaq section on sexing plants to better understand what a male looks like compared to a female. they even have a few pics of hermies.

basically, true males produce no bud and VERY little to no THC. they are never worth keeping unless you want to breed plants, in fact if you do keep them they will ruin your females. males are just gene carriers, nothing more. they produce pollen sacs which start off looking like tiny bananas. the pollen sac burst dropping pollen on all the female buds around them. when females get pollinated they start producing seeds, using energy that could have potentially been spent on producing buds. seeded plants will still produce some buds but you'll be picking tons of seeds out and the high isn't usually anywhere near as good.

to grow proper sinsemilla (weed without seeds) all males must be removed as soon as they're discovered. this is one step you take to maximize yield and potency.

now, if you're dealing with herms, it's a bit trickier. if it's a genetic hermaphrodite all you can do is pick off the male flowers as they come hoping that you didn't miss any. the results will be better than a seeded plant, but still not close to the real thing. yield will still suffer because of inferior genes. if you've caused the seeds to turn herm because of some kind of stress you can buy a product (i believe it's called 'Reverse' from Dutch Masters) that will coax the plant back to it's original sex.

seriously though, check out the FAQ and the tutorial threads for beginners here and you'll have a really good understanding for the future. from the sounds of it, you will not be able to salvage this one to your liking. my guess is even the one you think is female will turn herm towards the end of flowering. i'd harvest what i can off the three shit ones and use it for hash then keep the one you think is female and harvest it as soon as you see a male flower on it (unless it's ready for harvest before that).

sorry to bear the bad news, but it's better you find out now. good luck in the future.
