3000k COB for veg?

Hi everyone,
It's been a few years since my last grow, and I have two seedlings in a small tent atm.

I was planning to use a 125w 6500k CFL from back in the day for early veg, but I've just noticed today that half of the bulb is dead. I'm building a 150w 3000k COB light for flowering, could I use it for veg too, instead of replacing the big CFL?

Just wondering if the colour will make the plants stretch or anything. Also how far should the COB light be from the plants in veg/flower?

Thanks in advance!

depends on the strain, if its indica, itll stay nodal and stalky so 3000k would be better than 6500k but it all depends on how much headroom you have, I like using 3000k so I dont have to clip a BUNCH of nodes before flip. its up to you :)

I just did a veg test to see the difference. One side was under 6500k and the other a 3000K 90CRI with 3 strains and a few of each. The difference I saw was minimal. Only an 1" or 2" @ 20"-24" tall. You will be fine with the 3000K. Now in flower, the difference between different color temps makes a much bigger difference. 3000K is still my favorite.
