3000w grow opportunity, does this sound worth the time veteran indoor growers???

Hey fellow RIU'ers!! I got a business proposition the other day from a friend and I am trying to weigh the pros and cons of the situation and was wondering if you veterans could give me some input!! So I have a buddy that lives by me that has a room for rent for $600 a month that is already outfitted with 3 1000W lights, and all fans, ducting, humidifiers blah blah blah. He is willing to include use of all of his gear with the rental. The landlord knows of the grow, and everything will all be 100% prop 215 legal so no worries there. I have 5 or 6 seasons of outdoor growing and a few smaller closet grows under my belt and feel I am ready to take on this medium sized grow. I have done a bit of math and it seems like I could make a decent amount of $ without TOO much work. (obviously I will need to be over there almost daily to check on the babies and room conditions. Here is the math I have figure so far.

This is figuring 1 Lb. per light which is optimum I know, but I feel within a cycle or two I could produce close to these numbers (choosing the right strains of course)

Assuming I grow 8 week indica dominant strains and veg for 2 weeks prior to flipping to bloom, I could get in about 5 harvests per year. In my area quality indoor goes for an average of $2400 per lb. so 15 lbs. a year would net something around $36,000 before rent, utils, time and other miscellaneous costs.

36,000 Net
-7,200 rent
-3,600 bills (figuring $300/mo for 300w + fans and accessories)
-------------
$25,200 yearly profit, + or - for yield, other costs and time

SO what do you guys think??? are my numbers real or am I kidding myself??? I work part-time at a local dispensary as well, so I would not have too tough of a time getting rid of medicine to them which is a perk. Let me know what you indoor growers think!! thanks!:p

It sounds like it would be a decent amount of work. But based on what I have seen others do, I have a feeling you could most likely yield almost double that. What were you thinking, a total of 30 plants or so? Would it be far fetched to look for 3 Oz dried weight a plant? Approx. 5.6 lbs. a turnover, possibly more? Ideally, I have a feeling that you could make ALOT more guap if you set your mind to it.

And 2400 a P for high quality cannabis? I have a feeling you could look for alot more. Especially if you find the right buyer.

Here's something for you to think about..

I have a few grower friends in Cali who are all "Prop 215 legal".

One of them was running a house a year ago with multiple rooms rented out to different growers just like you are talking about. A year or two ago, the cops came by for some unrelated reason (can't remember why really), and for some reason or another they found out about the grow, and the tenants invited the cops in to inspect their "legal grow". At the time the cops were all fine with everything, and several months went by. Then one day like 6 months later they came back with warrants, and made arrests. Again, everything was "prop 215 legal". the problem is that even though they were technically within plant counts (which are even higher in my county that the rest of the state), it was deemed that they were growing an excessive amount for medical consumption or whatever. The house had something like $3k or $4k electric bills every month. Funny think is that another one of my friends was growing there at the time, and they didn't even find his room.

Anyway, the point is, you do still need to weigh the potential legal consequences.

Thanks for the insight, but that is not really relevant to anything I will be doing. I will be running 2-3 lights max.

3 ounces a plant is not unreasonable, but fitting ten plants that size under one 1000w light is haha. I figure 4 plants per light each yielding about a qp.

Ya thats what I was thinking. Its a 10x12 room so I am now thinking more like 2 lights. I guess my real question is do you guys think it would be worth $800-900 a month to grow here?? Assuming land lord knows and everything is clean secure and legal?? Thanks guys.
