First grow, still deciding on equipment.
LED(+CFL)
+$500
+Less energy cost
+Less Heat
+Less Noise
+Save money on fan
-No LED grow experience
HPS
+Guaranteed Results
-High heat
-High cost

Either would be used in an 4x4x7 Hydro Hut, CO2 tank, cooling...Please let me know what you think or if anyone has any experience with LED

LED panel because your going to have to buy new bulbs every 2 grows with an HPS and lots of heat that you have to put somewhere. IF your able to have a good ventilation system then you should go with the HPS

the first crop of an HPS grow will more than pay for just about any ventilation system you can come up with, within reason....
i cant say the same for LED's.
as far as what I would use... lol.. neither of them. im a CMH kind of guy

I am growing six plants under 2 120W LED panels, and having great results. Mine are 2-1 red to blue. Even though the light seems less than other lights, their combined foot print, hanging 18 inches over plants, give more than ample coverage. I can say that upward growth is slow, but growth between alternating leaves is very short ( less than an inch per ) and secondary growth so thick it is hard to see the plants' stems. No sure why, but under LEDs my plants are significantly darker green color than the ones ( same seeds ) that I have growing outdoors. Also, having accidentally sprayed water on my panels, and having done so with explosive results with HPS, I am pleased to say LEDs do NOT explode when wet. Still in veg stage, so we'll have to see what happens when flowering time comes, but thus far my experience has been very positive. I actually need a space heater because LEDs operate so coolly.

leds only ... just got my 63wat unit before used only cfl's 250wat mixed spectrum.
much healthy plants greenest leaf and very fast veg didn't got to flower yet but the first impression is this lights gonna be the future of growing .
no to say i ditched the fan 60 more WATS so 250wcfl+60w fan -like 300+w inferior to only 60 watt led.
go for led!!!
