I don't believe that the HPS won overall. Only the weight was better and barely better at that. I def am going to slowly add more of these LEDs to my grow room until i have enough to cover (6) 4x4 trays.

either way if you got 300g from a 1000w i think you fucked up. you shouldve atleast pulled .5g per watt with that HPS especially in a drip system. IMO this is not a quaility test.

Lights:
I am going to use a 1000w Mh for veg of all plants.
For flowering I will have (2) 1000w Hps and (2) 300w LED GrowPanel Pros by Sunshine Systems. The flowering room will not be divided but the drain tables will be grouped according to light type used.
 
just to make sure I understand correctly....the rule of thumB is your suppose to pull @ least .5g per watt per plant???per grow area using how many plants???
 
Great info. I was looking into getting a ufo for my babies since summer is coming around and I dont want to deal with the heat. Do anyone know how much heat they put off compared to a 4 bulb t5?

Yup.. Heat from a ufo is pretty much non existant...Prosource just dropped the price af illuminators down to 299.00 (great lights)

Exactly. And what happened to the "(2) 300w LED GrowPanel Pros by Sunshine Systems".

In your last post you now say you used 4 panels by HGL? I am struggling to take any of this seriously.

ax- where in there does it say hes running only 1 1000w??? im pretty sure all it says is that the pres said that 4 could out do a 1000w. he didnt say im changing it to a grow off between about 520w of LED vs a single 1000w. so you read the whole thread and dont allow people to make assumptions off what others write.- if this was a quality test, those plants would have been taking care of alot better. they wouldnt have been allowed to out grow the light and reach the ceiling while the LEDs sit perfectly happy.

I am still learning as I go. I'm not a professional by any means, and im going to be doing another grow using clones that im putting straight to 12/12 under both lights and see what the outcomes are.
I have always been led to beleive that when growing from seed, in order to have amazing clones/mothers from clones you have to led the plant mature fully by letting it veg from approximately 2 months. If you had read the thread fully like most people have, you would know that I have addressed things like this before. I understand there are things I can improve in this experiment, and in my future grows I will be making those improvements.
 
Regardless of what he got from the hps he got .5 from the led which is what everbody is saying he should get with hps, so apparently LEDs are much more user friendly, they made this guy grow twice as good. Imagine if he had 1000w of LED.

What a dividing topic, I will now grow using only Halogen, lol. I love this community, we are so different but so alike. Great grow and keep blazin.
I think a combination of lights might be the key.
 
I love how some people are so close minded. Wait till plasma hits the scene. its gonna be crazy, One day we will be able to grow outside with no limits and no bullshit, one day. hopefully soon.

The plant does not want these UV rays to damage reproduction processes so it produces trichlomes. LED's have no UV and will never produce anything close to sticky icky. Not even close. I call shananigans. U have to learn to gro first before doing side by side testing of different lighting. Because regardless of all the hoo ha over watt watts u used. If u only got 260 from 1000hps u F'ed sumthin up hard. 1000 watts u should get at least 2lbs. Keep at it man id sick with hps for flowering and fix wat ur doing wrong becuz that iz pitiful
 
Good thread, minus the flames. I still need to do more research to determine if I want to make the switch away from HPS, but so far your results sound promising.

Keep up the great work! The longer you grow, the better you'll get!
