300watt incandescent bulb question lol

i was wondering if it would help out my grow if i used this kind of bulb along side my 400watt hps im going to try and do a scrog grow and will have my 400 watt hanging down with out the hood just the bulb hanging down and was thinking of hanging down this bulb also to help out the over all lighting. Thanks for the help!

incandescent bulbs have 0 usable light for plants. IT would be a complete waste of time.

YOu would be better of getting a hood for your light so that you can direct the light exactly where you need it.

not 0 but very low it wouldnt be worth it for the price of power your paying for that thing

Hydrofarm makes an incandescent grow light. They also have a 150w that is recommended to be placed 18" above the canopy. So the 300w will probably be fine in that area or a little further. Do it and post pics.

Unfortunately incandescent light is very inefficient. But for the sake of finding a new use for that bulb, use it. And re-use christmas tree lights like this below.

okay lol i think i am just going to put in a nice cfl instead just to add more area lighting just a little added info haha, my grow is 3x3x6 i am going to try and use this new 400watt reflector bulb that has a built in reflector http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Reflectorized-400-watt-HPS-Bulb.asp so i was going to hang down both bulbs with out hoods and use scrog method.

bro, ditch the incandescent,its rubbish compared to your hps. Its like sticking a matchbox car on the grill of an indi car,thinking it will go faster.
