30mg MS Contin...wax coating?

I've been on 10-325 Norco's for some time now. Dr. switched me to these in order to lower my pill intake. I'm curious about removing the time release. I also hear that it's wax below the outer coloring.

I believe the time release is in the actual pill... I might be wrong, but I would think the stomach would eat right through that wax?

They are purple. I tend to break all my pills in half anyway. I figure the more surface area the faster my body breaks them down. That may not be true but it makes me feel better :)

I took two yesterday and they did relieve my pain. No warm and fuzzies though. For what it's worth, a good 4 or 5 Norco's still do me pretty good. They eventually make me feel a little gross but the first 45min or so is nice. My standard dose of Norco's is 2 4x a day.

I read on the internet that you remove the coloring with a wet Qtip and then you have to remove some waxing coating??? Can't find that wax and that's too much work for me. Unless somebody has some groundbreaking advice on what to do with these I will probably get rid of them. They aren't that great.

throw it in your mouth for like 5 seconds, wipe it clean with a towel or whatever and you're done with the wax. I would also probably crush and go intranasal. But... . These tablet strengths may cause fatal respiratory depression when administered to patients not previously exposed to opioids.
