3100, or 4200k

Either will work, but the 3k is more intended strictly for flower, whereas the 4k can be used for both.

I own the 4k bulbs, and have used them for veg and flower successfully.
i got my LEC kit from advanced tech lighting. the owner told me they had more success with the 4K for the whole run. i'm getting ready to find out now.

I have both lamps, I wouldn't want to use the 4k for flower unless I really had too....but then again I wouldn't want to use the 3.1k for veg unless I really had too lol. If i could only use one it would be the 3100 fo sho!
I think buddy at advanced might be overstocked on 4k lamps, don't agree with what he told you at all...then again I didn't try it either.

I was planning on the 3100 for flower but wanted to make sure. I have both as one for the veg tent. So I'll use the 4200 for veg and 31 for flower. ThNks!

my old retro white cmh was 4K and the results were great, veg and flower.

Not saying it wouldnt do good but I'm willing to bet that if you used the 3100 during flower you would of done better.
If you could only have 1 lamp I'd choose the one that was designed for the task your using it for most of the time, since most veg for 3-4 weeks and flower for 8+ it makes sense to go for the 3100.
I used retro 400w cmh's too for veg and supplemental ltg during flower too, actually still have 6 brand new lamps kicking around if your interested....

i just started using the LEC. it replaced the retro whites. less watts for more light is fine with me.

no thanks to the lamps! i've seen used ones on Ebay for decent money though. and new ones for $80.

i still would argue the 3.1K is better than the 4K. my only evidence at the moment is our Sun is about 5100K (or thereabouts) so the 4K is closer to that.

$80? Really? Hmmm.....I was ready to dump them for $20 for the six. Lol, thanks!

5100k =the sun, imagine how good outdoor would be if the sun was 3100! Lol

do you have the vertical or the horizontal ones? verticals are easier to find and the horiz's get more money.
i'd put the all six for $300 and start from there.
I don't know, I used them for both but that could explain the short life they had during open air vert lol. I'm gonna check when I get home!
