Hey the OP wants to try to save this plant...it can be saved. Will it be worth it in the end? Well TBH as far as yield goes probably not. But the learning experience will be invaluable if it makes it too harvest OR if it dies tonight. He is still learning. Next grow can be a lot better.

Na just a regular bag seed from some dank. Just have this one hoping to run into some more.
Soil - Jungle Growth
Water - every 5 days or so
No nutes so far but thinking about starting on next water with 1/4 strength

Yep, at this point I'm not trying to have the best thing possible, I'm just trying to have something period. That's all I have to work with so getting rid of it would not do any good. Def just experimenting and fucking around now. I actually have a lot of experience growing crazy fruits and vegetables with my dad but never had a chance to fully flower the cannabis. You would think those skills are a good background, along with constant research of random weed related shit like I'm sure we all do all the time lol. But hope she comes through, which i'm thinking she's a she cause despite the size, it's showing little hairs between the nodes. smells really great too. again despite its size....I just got really baaaaakkkeeedddd-

check the acidity of the soil..some soils are too acidic for some strains, ph of 4.5- 5 has stunted some of mine before,not that badly mind.maybe you are over watering also..

I agree... I don't expect that plant to ever amount to much, due to it being as stunted as it is, but at the very least you should walk away from this with some knowledge gained... thus far we havent identified what cause the severe stunting in growth, unless it was overwatering that did it... which is quite possible because you should have had to water that plant maybe once given the size of the pot
pH is very likely, but the question is was it too high or too low? And why? BKB suggested repotting to something larger, I don't agree with that, I think the 5 gallon is already too large, you might be able to keep better track/control of the moisture level if you were to put the plant into something smaller, such as a 16ounce beer cup

I tested the Ph of the soil and it was 8.0. The tester I have also tests for ferts and it said it was on the low side. Still too early to water with lower ph water. Its been 3 days and the top is still pretty moist. The roots are actually showing on the bottom. There is no way I could put it in a 16 oz cup. It is using the entire 5 gallons. I'm going with the seed was either a dud or its about to kick in.

What do the little hairs in between the nodes mean at this point? I doubt a plant this small can show sex even though its been over a month.
Also, the first set of 3 leaves have just fallen off. Along with the 2 true leaves. Yellowed and died! Don't think it's a big deal but should I feed a little on next watering?
 
If you are really determined to save it, here's what I suggest:

Transplant it to a smaller container like was previously mentioned. I know that you think it's using the whole container for it's massive root system -- it isn't. Maybe it does have roots going down to the bottom, but whatever..

Just dig it up, and only use a few inches of it's rootball to transplant with. It may be shocked for a couple of days, but it will grow after that. I would suggest using a 16 oz party cup to start with. Also, I like to drill half a dozen holes in the bottom of the cup and a dozen or two more holes in the side of the cup, so that your plant's roots can breathe -- it really helps in party cups.

It's really the only way you can control your grow. The 5 gal container is way too big for that tiny plant -- you are just stunting it's growth. Also the 8.0 ph is way too high, but you will never be able to get ahold of the ph in that container at this point, I guarantee.

Transplant that plant into a more appropriate container today. Do it now. Don't ask anymore questions, just do what I said, if you wanna save it.

I'm gonna do that tonight. Just want to make some things clear. Is cutting the roots only going to shock it or would that kill it? Just take a knife and cut around the stem a little and about 5 inches deep?

Yes, it will shock it a little, but from the looks of it it's already in shock from ph. I dunno if I'd even wanna take 5 inches from that big pot. I would just go like 4 inches. Don't even need a knife, just reach your hand into the soil and rip it out. Don't worry too much, plants like to be cut up and ripped apart in veg, it just makes their growth double.

Also, please use fresh soil to transplant with, don't take that old crappy soil from the 5 gallon container (except of course what you need to keep the small 4" rootball). If you can get some vitamin b12 (find it at your local garden store, home depot, kmart, whatever) it will stimulate new root growth, and help to reduce transplant shock.

Thanks a lot man. I'm gonna head to the store and get some more soil tonight. hopefully get out of work in time. I will try and update tomorrow to see how she's doing after the transplant

Looks pretty much the same and its been about an hour. Just used about 3 or 4 inches of it and dug it out. There really wasn't as much roots as I thought there would be so not too much damage. Def still alive and doing well. Gonna go out and get a couple more 6500k bulbs.

You think just let it sit for a couple days in 18-6 and see what happens from here? I gave it a little water and packed the soil pretty loosely to make sure not to have the same problem. What else should I do if anything?

Oh pay no attention to the previos post, you have moved it. 40 days and little roots. The new question then is do you really want this plant too live? If the answer is yes then don't listen to the 'lynch mob' in here LOL! JK y'all But seriously, if you want too save here as long as she is green there is hope.

That is a possability as well Enzo. But it is the only seed he had, and he is trying to learn by attempting to continue.

I don't know...to me a plant is life and to kill it for being a runt or a bit geneticly imperfect just seems wrong to me. It obviously wants too live. Why should it not be allowed the chance if the grower is willing to do it?
 
lol yea I always like seeing new posts but I hate it when they are on the negative side. Def want to keep her going. I mean she's alive and all I have. Now showing signs of being shocked a little. I guess now it is going to start focusing on growing new roots and hopefully shoot up right?
