3rd Grow- Lemon Skunk, Strawberry Cough, Trainwreck, and Southern Skunk

What's up all my friends here at RIU! For all of you who participated in my poll to decide this grow..thanks!! For those of you who may have missed that here is what happened..I decided for my 3rd grow that it would be pretty cool to let others help decide what strains I should grow out of my "over 30" selection of strains..I pretty much had to limit that to 10 strains since the poll only allows 10 inputs...so the top 2 strains chosen where Strawberry Cough and Trainwreck...I also decided on 2 that I really wanted to grow which are Lemon Skunk and Southern Skunk...

So today i am officially starting this much anticipated grow by some..especially me!

So this morning I got my grow box all prepared and the soil in the pots..I created my usual mixture of potting soil-locally bought, lots of extra perlite, and some mg rootstarter mix..

Right now the seeds are in germination so we shall see in a couple days how things go..if for some reason any of my single fem. seeds dont germinate I will go with the next chosen strain on the poll..for instance White Rhino would be next in line..and so on.. but all are welcome and I look forward to getting a nice harvest!

alright this is super man. so im here for the beginning of a grow. good luck. hope you posts some pics also.

Here is a little info on the strains- Most all of them are fem. seeds besides the Southern Skunks..I know some are for fem's and some are against..but for me I have had some great luck with them..

the Strawberry Cough is from Dutch Passion..it is a 75% Sativa 25% Indica strain..which is supposed to provide a pretty euphoric high which I like..

Lemon Skunk and Trainwreck both from Greenhouse Seeds..I have read good and bad things about them..but I never knock something I haven't tried..so we shall see..I am not sure of the % on indica and sativa..but I am thinking these are mostly Indica..I am really hoping that the Lemon Skunk germ's because I really love some old skool skunk

and finally Southern Skunk is an unknown strain to me..but it was given to me by a friend and supposedly this strain won an underground cup in Texas..the seeds are some of the biggest-dark striped seeds i have come across..so I am really interested to see how these turn out..I am mainly wanting one female out of the 2 I am germing..if I get two females I will keep the best looking one..

thanks Smoke!..oh yeah I will for sure post some pics..but it will probably be a week or so..I plan to start taking pics after they have sprouted.. but I will keep you all updated as far as what's germed and what's not..

did you get those lr2's in the ground?
I'm gonna do 4 plants outdoor, including one lr2, but I'm gonna start em indoor.

whats up dude! thanks for the comments man! I am looking forward to this as well..and yeah I will get some pics of my box..it's nothing to special..but I built it out in my storage building..its has a incoming fan line from the outside and two fans at the top for ventilation..my last grow i started out with 1 exhaust fan and was having temps in the 90's so adding another fan really helped on those hot days..but I am using a 150 watt hps to veg. and flower..this time during flowering I am adding another 80watts of grow light tubes..so i am interested to see the difference those make..but its about 3ft wide x 3 ft long x 3.5 ft tall.. I am planning on topping the plants around 8-10 inches..then about 4 or so days after that put them in 12/12..

but that's awesome your planning another grow...the one you have right now looks great!..my next grow is already planned and its definitely going to have some JH in it.. maybe even the mango.... btw I used my vaporizer first time last night and I doudt I will ever go back to any other way...got super stoned on just a small bowl and no crappy feelings of my lungs being violated..lol..i loved it man..

oh yeah about the LR2's..man I came back stoked to see the one outside and frost had killed it ..so all I have left is one little runt inside and I will probably put it out today..so needless to say no luck on getting more LR2's seeds but its all good cause if ever need some more I will just order them..but I might go for some of the other auto strains..if I ever do another auto strain..we shall see

Here are some pics of my box..i still need to tie up some wires and mount the timer..but thats pretty much it..if you'll notice the pics where the pots are sitting there are temporary boards..since this box is built with ground under it I cut out part of the flooring of the box and dug it deeper so as the plants get bigger I can give them more height..it will add around 10 more inches..

Update!..well last night I checked and the Strawberry Cough, Trainwreck, and Lemon Skunk all had tap roots..the southern skunk seeds looked really fat so i am hoping they will have roots today..but I went ahead and put the others in soil with the lights on 18/6...gave them a lil water this morning..temp's in the box was right at 70F..so i couldnt be more happier than that..when I turned the lights on last night I disabled the incoming fan and just turned on 1 exhaust to let in naturally pull air in for now..If I had kept the incoming fan on I'm sure it would have been a lot lower temps..so hopefully the Southern Skunk will get planted tonight..we shall see

hey whats up dude! yeah I've been meaning to update for the last couple days..had to go out of town unexpectedly but good news...the Southern Skunk did germ and I planted it right before I left Monday..got back late last night..just in time to water..but no ground breakage yet on any plants..well the lights just came on a little while ago and the Strawberry Cough is about an inch tall out of the dirt..but it still has the seed shell hanging on pretty good..the Trainwreck and Lemon Skunk both are breaking through the dirt....but no sign yet on the Southern Skunk..I am hoping by Saturday to have all plants above ground..lets cross our fingers..but again I am stoked because i only had 1 fem seed of the Cough, Wreck, and LEmon SKunk..I have plenty of the SOuthern SKunk so i can always germ and plant more of those..

what's up dude! thanks man I am glad they all germed too.. but yeah I love the vaporizer..i hit up some blueberry skunk on it last weekend and it ripped me..lol..like 3 hits was all it took and i didn't have that crappy feeling of my lungs being violated afterwords..so I'm loving it..i guess the cool thing about a vape is your bud don't have to be completely dried or cured I imagine..is that a correct assumption?..i mean since you never reach combustion..but I am glad you have got to sample some of yours..how was the high on the JH? does yours have like an almost dirt after taste? like that earthy taste? just curios..i thought I would have more a blueberriesh taste but it wasn't..although it wasn't terrible..

kool, that bb skunk sounds nice. I'll have to try it soon too.
yeah, that's a fact about vaporizing. and there no difference, I can tell, from flushed or not flushed. however, I suspect, dried and cured would vape better and longer. with fresh you really get all sweet hits cuz of the high sugar content of fresh buds. when it dries and cures, the sugars are converted to energy in the buds cell walls...that's why a cured bud is so firm, and almost sponge like...

my mango tastes just like mango/papaya...I see why they also call it that...tastes similar to both...
I have two very different JH types, one is a hashy, spicy tasting one. the other is sweeter and oily, with lots of crystals...similar to my thcb.

Sounds like a nice batch you've got there. You've got me curious about this southern skunk now. Did they happen to mention anything about it's origin or growth characteristics? Hopefully you'll be able to manage the different strains relatively uniformly and be able to harvest most of them around the same time. That's always been the one thing that's kept me from experimenting with several strains at the same time.

wazzup!..yeah I think you will really like the BB Skunk and the Aurora Berry..but thats cool about the taste being better right off the plant..I guess that is for sure one of the positives of vaporizing..mmmm that mango is sounding good about now..I love some mango's....but thats cool you got two phenotypes of the JH..atleast you can tell the difference..which one do u like better?

whats up my friend?..thanks for stopping by!..as far as the Southern Skunk I am not sure..I am really anxious to see how it turns out..I am actually glad I am growing other strains with this one so I will have something right there to compare it too..well as long as I get atleast 1 female..but yeah all my grows so far has been 2-3 diff strains..but this is one that has the most so far so I will seed..good thing is i started them all around the same time so that should help me keep better track of the dates for harvesting..

Good stuff man! I will be watching. I just got a Train wreck bean, also a white rhino and lemon skunk. I am waiting on some others before I start them beans. NC eh?

Good morning everyone..its Saturday and I have excellent news on my end..checked the plants this morning and all are out of the soil..

so here are some pics i took..they might be hard to see right now because of the size of the plants..oh yeah..one plant i re-transplanted from back outside to in is my LR2..its the one in the center..but its a runt so I have no idea how well it will really do.





Southern SKunk's..there are actually two plants in this pic..but one still has the seed shell on so its hard to see..

Good choice on strains superman. I got the lemon skunk, trainwreck, and juicy fruit in flower now. The lemon skunk smells so nice. It's kind of a lemony/citrus smell. I was in there tying one down last night and that citrus smell stayed on my hands for a while. I smoked some last year and it was bomb ass weed. It does stretch a little, so be careful on height. I got one that's already 3ft (2-3 weeks into flower).

Currently going, 2 alaskan ice (been dissapointed with them) 1 Afghan kush and 1 mazar kush. I have the lemon skunk, train wreck and white rhino beans ready for when those 4 are done. I also have some beans out of some stuff from the Ten/NC boarder. Yeah im around NC
