so ive almost completed setting up my 3x3 tent in my newly thought up layout... hoping on the vertical hps bandwagon.

previously, i just had this 600w hps in a cooltube, now ive built a shelf unit that runs the perimeter of the tent about 2'9" tall, on the shelf sit 8 plants around the 600w bulb, then underneath of the shelf i have an additional cooltube housing a 400w hps, unfortunately i need a different cooltube on the bottom because this one doesnt have a removable reflector so for now its only 180 degrees of coverage, need to pickup a replacement once the sprouts get bigger.

heres the pics, the 2nd 2 got rotated somehow.

just wanted to post this because in my research i couldnt find many other set ups with this small amout of space, most i found were 5x5 or so but i wanted to see if i go pull this vertical thing off in my little tent, so far its working great, the temps hit 85-86 when my central A/C is off but otherwise say around 80. the plants around the 600w are ranging from 4-6wks old, my own hybrid auto flower cross of easyryder and purple jems,

the bottom sprouts are a bunch of emerald triangle freebies that just germ'd, they will be vegged, cloned then moved to the 600w but i have another cab with a 150w lamp i normally use for vegging, once everythings done ill have 8 plants flowering on each level of the vertical tent.

anyway, just thought id contribute this to the virtual grow world, see if anyone was doing something similar or could offer any feedback.

looks good man, i'm gonna do a very similar setup in my 4'X4'. With this size of tent, i'm surprised you managed to fit. Aren't you worried the plants will get burned by such a strong light? You must keep them at less than 20" away from the cooltubes. Don't that worry you? esp with temps of 80-85? where do you measure temps?

also, can you tell me all about your venting? and the cfms. This will be very helpful to me.

subbed.

i wouldve replied to this sooner had my subscribe function worked, but i never keep my lights 20" away, even when hanging horizontal i like it within 12" of the canopy and i measure temps around the middle of the plants. venting in use is 175cfm 4" fan on the lights (with 6" adapter) and an additional 6" 400cfm fan exhaust smelly air thru a filter, both run at 75% power to cut down on noise.
