if im reading this right and understand it you are saying 1 plant per sq foot and do you mean split the room in half by putting each strain on opposite sides of each other? sorry if this sounds childish but i just want to make sure im getting this right. i want to grow the best meds ican for my wife and i

If your lookin for the fastest turn-around time, you could fit 16 2 gallon grow bags in that area nicely. Veg them for 1-3 weeks or about 7-10 inches tall then flower.

I can fit 16 in a grow lab tent that is 2' 7'' x 2' 7''. SOG method depends on strain type and veg time, ie. short indicas that mainly grow just 1 main cola with a few small lower branches and short veg time gives you the fastest turn around. white widow i have heard is well suitable for SOG take a cutting from the best one make a mother out of it and use the cuttings off it next time around and you will end up with all virtually identical plants that will give you a perfect uniform canopy. After your first time you'll get a feel for how long to veg em for to get the best results.

doing it this way is the best way to grow in a small space, vegging less plants for longer might give you an overall better yeild per harvest (?) but if you veg for 1-2 months then flower for 2 months your only gonna harvest 2-3 times per year. With SOG method if you have your cuttings vegged timely so that you can throw them in the flower room right after you harvest you can get 5-6 harvests per year wich will yeild more annually! Plus waiting 4 months to harvest sucks!

Hold up here. He said the flower room is 3x3...thats three feet by three feet. You can't really split that.

A 400 watt system has the potential to successfully flower an area about 3'x5'. So, there's no set number of plants, since its going to vary based on the final size of those plants.

If you're growing clones of smaller strains like NL and AK47, you can fit more in your area than if you were growing some cali orange or other strains that can get big.

Best thing to do also is to rotate your plants around so they get equal exposure. The size of area you are using, basically just fill it in as much as you can with plants because that 400 will support it all, in a smaller area like that.
