(4) 600 watt hps tent = 2400 watts in 9x4

I am running 3 600 watt hps in a 9x4 tent. My actual canopy is about 9 x 3.25.

I am thinking about adding one more 600 hps to the mix. Would this be beneficial? Assuming I could keep temps under control.

Anyone have experience with 2400 in a tent, or running 80 watts/sq ft without using co2 enrichment?

Your already at 3x3 ft coverage as is, with a halfway descent reflector your giving them more then plenty of light. I doubt youd see much a decrease if you went down to 2 600's.

IMO wasted money, I am interested in how your keeping the heat in check now. I ran a 400 in a 4x2x6ft tall tent with a cool tube and a 300cfm fan and still battled 80-90 degree temps.
 
That's a pretty good video Moses. It would have been very useful some years back. There wasn't too much in it about 4 600 watts in a 9 x 4 tent, but it was well put together.
The cool air brought in from the basement would be first choice, but basements are non existent here.

I liked the attic view of the exhaust being ran to the vent near the roof. I remember a while back with my first real exhaust system, I was confused by the simple concept.

Going to stick to 3 600s. Improve the air cool circuit, and work on bring in more fresh air from outdoors, even when it is 110 outside.

I think getting more co2 to the plants will show more results than increasing light at this time.

hi nickyp. I am using air cooled lights and a 1 ton window unit. My temps get real high when it gets 100+ outside. Otherwise, I keep them around 75-82 with this setup. I open the tent doors during the day on real hot days.

I grew in a 4.75 x 2 x 7 a few years ago with 1 400 and 1 600 hps, and that was a battle. I air cooled, but was relying on the ac from the central unit in the house.

With current setup, on hot days, sometimes I set my intake fans on a stand right in front of the window unit. The connecting duct pipes it in to the tent.

My elec bill gets real high sometimes.

The longer I do this, the closer I get to bringing in the co2 tanks. There is just no good way to get fresh co2 rich cool air to plants when it is 100+ outside.

I would agree that your not going to get much benefit as your already pretty good in terms of total lumens. I'm curious as to how you situated your lights as that is an odd size. I have a 5 x 9 and I'm also running 3 600's in a straight line. Wasn't happy with lux numbers on the edges so installed a light mover that has worked out very well. Took a quick vid of it couple weeks ago

meh... point is it should work in your space with proper flow. I run 4k in a 10x10' polybox ~ temps are perfect at about 72-75. but then again it doesn't get to 110 where I'm at.
 
legallyflying - I really like what you have going on there. Very nice.

Pretty much have the same thing here, except 9 x 3.25 feet of canopy so no light mover. 1 daystar AC in the center, 2 silverstar on each side.

- will be sticking with the 3 600s until - decide to ditch this tent and dedicate a flower only room. The nice thing about the tent has been it took very little effort to keep 2 seperate light cycles in one 10 x 12 room (veg and flower). with the number of mothers being kept (- like the variety), all the open veg space is nice.

- think it would work. - just think it wouldn't really increase yield at as high rate as the electric bill and heat.

the 4k 10x10 has been in the back of the mind for awhile. It is most likely the next overhaul to be done. Never done the 1ks before.
