make sure to have cool air to each light individually( leave 1 side of hood open to pull air from the room, this actuall pulls the warmer air from around the outside of the light").

Not in my experience. I used to exhaust through my lights (leave one side of the reflector as a passive intake) My temps got way lower when I added a passive intake to the lights through the kitchen. The air going to the lights was MUCH warmer, but the temps dropped anyway because a great deal of heat escapes through that side of the reflector (i was even using mogul socket (small) side)

You can cool the lights with 110 degree attic air but why? Figure out how to use outside air which is ambient and better for cooling. Use a fake roof register or something, Sealed lights in a closed system dont allow odor to enter but why use attic air when cooler air is ostensibly on all sides and below you?

speed habit, dont get why you quoted me. you dont agree that each light having its own fresh air(not hot air from the light in front of it) is better? wouldnt that help with the life and performance of the bulbs? as well as drawing heat from multiple souces instead of 1 , as long as it's vented out of the room...???????

how hard would it be to move your fan so it is above you spliter? then it would be pulling. i would put filter in attic so it runs like this:: filter< fan<spliters"< lights< open to room(< direction of air flow). trust me, your room temp will drop to where you want it. where im at , its normal to have 3 months 100f. or above through the summer. and a "vent booster" over the A/C register will pull alot more cold air from your a/c into the room(BIG DIFFERENCE).:weed::weed:

I agree to using a different source of air (Attic air where I live is ALWAYS hot) and you're not going to be able to cool your lights enough - PLUS - you may want to consider a dehumidifier.
Weed likes something 40-80% humidity - If YOUR space is a little on the humid side, try using a dehumidifier - this will remove moisture from the air, and because water holds heat extremely well, the less in the air, will result in a lower room temp - ESPECIALLY if you have an AC into your room. Simply moving air around lights is not going to cut it.
The project I am working on now has a flowering room about 7 x 10; (2 x 1000HPS and 1 600HPS ducted and suction-air cooled lights - cold source: outside, exhaust: outside) and when we hooked up the dehumidifier, the temps dropped from high 80's back into the lower 70's - alot more manageable. Good luck with the grow

Peace. D.D.

I think that your primary problem is the faith you have in that 8" fan. (I am assuming we have the same fan from your pics) I bought a 500cfm 8" fan at Home Depot. Got it home and installed the duct work and fan, plugged it in..............no joy. Theoretically, that fan should change the air in the room every 2.5 min and I should be drawing air INTO the room (under the door, around the door, etc) That fan is worthless. I borrowed a fan, absolutely no Idea how many CFM, but when I put it in line and turned it on, my ears popped, and I thought the room was gonna implode for a moment. It's a "squirrel cage" type fan with a BIG assed motor. I borrowed it from a friend, who got it when an auto body shop went under. I have shopped online for an "inline" fan, and cannot find anything with enough CFM at a REALISTIC price. Everything I have found with adequate CFM is 3 or 4 hundred dollars.
I have the same prob you do. Same room, except that I run 6 400w. My daytime temps are around 80, and drop to about 65 or 70 at night. My light cycle is opposite of yours, on at 6 am, off at 6 pm.
I'd be real interested to know what you guys/gals use to circulate air. I don't THINK I need to cool the bulbs (I could be wrong, it's been known to happen) I am gonna take that 8" inline and hook it up to the A/C vent in the room. Maybe that'll help.

Yep. Inline fans are expensive. I found a 750cfm 10" fan on sale online for $175. I'm getting that bitch asap.
