hi guys...a few weeks ago i posted a thread asking info on autos cuz my friend wanted to do some....
anyway..he planted some big buddha ak autos .... and after 3 or 4 weeks theyre just 4 nodes high (about 4 inch) and have been like that for 2 weeks!

no offence to him....but my buddy is an idiot wen it comes to growing lol! his conditions are not perfect, the heat in the room is sometimes 10 degree higher, he was watering everyday which i told him not to...and he suddenly thinks hes some bigtime gangster cuz he has some scrawny plants lmao! ...basically he shouldnt be growing..but he is, so i said ill find some info...

there is no signs of anymore growth...personally i think he has caused rootrot maybe? and the plants wont grow any further....or would that kill the plants?

i told him hes lucky if he gets an 8th off all the plants...he seems to think hes getting kilos lol!

so...do you think he has created a problem? or are bb ak autos just tiny anyway? (i dont think its that lol) ...and is there amyway he will get a successful grow? or will they be permanently stumped?

If I were you dude I'd leave him to it. It's the best way for him to learn he's neither a gangster or gardener...at the moment
(But yeh, sounds like watering, temps etcetera)

The problem is most likely overwatering. That's one of the worst thing new growers do. They're so excited to grow, that they overcompensate. The flipside of that is that you can easily leave them alone for too long, and become neglectful.

Growing is a fine balance, and to be honest, it wasn't until my current grow (which is technically my third) that I finally started to understand it. I water my plants when the pots have lost a fair amount of weight, and the first 1/8th-1/4" is dry. That's probably the best advice anyone can give. The amount of time between waterings can vary a lot, and there are multiple variables that affect the time it takes for the water to be used and/or evaporate. Temperature in the room, size of the pot, lighting, light schedule, dirt composition. it's all a silly puzzle that one needs to figure out on their own, tbh. People can give advice all day long, but the person in the room with the plants is the one that has to figure it out.

autos are pretty small. Not saying there isn't a problem, try taking them out of the pots and checking the roots if you think it's root rot. But I grew an auto my first successful grow, hydroponically, it was only 7.5 grams dry. I hear this is pretty much the norm, up to half an ounce (if you're lucky that is) depending on the strain. My regular big bud grew 4.5 ounces dry. Try to get some pictures, maybe theres something going on that someone can diagnose for him.

i might be seeing him later so ill try and get some pics
ive never done autos so i hav absolutely no experience with them...but yes ive also read lots about the norm being just a few gram!

usually id leave him to it, but he has no internet access so i said id help him out...even though hes irritating me lol .....something tells me hes not ever going to be a great gardener and will most likely quit after the first or second attempt! ...he keeps saying "its just a plant..ive grown a plant before" .... if only he were right lol!!

if he's growing in soil, tell him to try hydroponics. I couldn't grow soil for the life of me, tried a few times. But first time with hydroponics I got a harvest. Its just more straight forward to me. But if he doesn't have the internet he is definitely going to need a book to do it and about 6 months of studying before attempting.

No thats it ,they have stopped vegging and your 'friend' can expect about 4 grams per plant. Next time keep the autos under 24 hour mh lighting to get the most out of veg stage and mass plant them sog style.

Autos stay tiny and look stunted until the stretch and then they explode.

Two of my autos never got above 3" before flowering, one stayed under 2". I thought she was sick. They all produced 2+oz of bud.
