4 plants from seed experiment

Here is the picture update.

I took 2 pictures yesterday they are the ones without the Prop lids.

I have also just this minute taken 2 more pictures with the new Propagation lids that are a little taller than the others which i am using for a few hours a day until this weekend.

HI All

Here is a new picture update of the little babies.

I went to pick up my new 125w Blue spectrum CFL yesterday and when i got there my hydro guy had me a red spectrum ready. Told him what was he playing at (freaking stoner lol) he's all out of them so i am getting it next week. This being the case i am now planning on keeping the young ones under my Flouro until the middle of next week then i will start them off slowly using my new CFL then add the HPS after a few days of hardening them off under it.

So here we are my shitty digital camera seems to have taken some pretty good pics today.

Yeah they are taking off. I just want to get them under the HPS and really get them going but i dont want to burn them or make them stretch so i would rather just wait. Plus the longer i can keep them in propagation the better the root development will be ready for the Mychorizol.

Had my delivery of HOT SHOTS now too. I got the triple pack seeing as i was paying just as much for delivery as the cost of the triple set.

So i'm good for over a year now lol.

How are the girls doing???

yeah im curious about the plastic over them, kinda making a little green house for them. Im curious to see if this'll work well or not. Ive seen other people do it too but idk if it actually helps or not.. let us know and ill keep watching.. looks good though

The plastic bottle bottoms are for propagation only to keep humidity levels high to help increase root development so that the plant is not working too hard for moisture etc and can put all its energy into creating a good root system. Yesterday (sunday) i placed the new arrivals in their new home for the rest of their life after 10days propagation.
I have attached a few pics of them in the room so you can get the idea of how things are in there but i warm you the quality is shit as usual.lol. I will get them all out to pose in a few days probably friday evening.

So here it now begins my 3 weeks of vegging. QUick question do you or dont you count propagation as vegging?
Personally i dont because its the caring stage for the little plant where you nurture it and mother it trying to make it as strong as it can be before you start the vegetative stage.
If you do count it then i will going for around 4 and a half weeks of veg time. lol

Also i might add that i started the babies under the 600w with it around 1m away from them and today i have lowered it slightly and i will be lowering it until i can get it where i need it at around 12-15 inches away.

I have also recently purchased 4x22cm PC Case cooling fans that have a CFM 98 so figured i might buy a cooltube and attach it so that i can get my HPS alot closer to the plants. I originally bought them to reduce the number of fans i am running in my closet door as the ones i am using are quite loud as there are 10 of them. i am thinking of using 2 for air circulation in at the bottom out at the top and also as described by connecting it up to a cool tube doing both pushing air at one end and pulling it at the other. If this works it will save a bundle on buying actual fans from my hydro shop at around £80-150. I paid £30 for all 4 of the fans.

When they arrive i will take pics of them and then the installations that i use them in.

Cool as Feck J..... are you going to create a hood for the CFL or just hang it in there?

aight man love the grow, just gotta question for ya. first i must say you saved my ass, the humidity in my growroom is only around 25% which is wayyyyy to low i kno and i havnt had the money to buy a humidifier so your propagation lids are so simple but brilliant!!! do you have any holes what so ever in those lids??? im assuming thats why my babies are growing so fuckin slow (low humidity) because i have a 600watt MH light on them plus 3 100watt 6500k CFLs so im gonna shut the CFLs off for a couple days and put the lids on them. as i said i just need to kno ASAP if you have any holes at all in those lids? (may be a stupid question) nice grow and im definetely pullin up a chair. thnx for the help bro....-subbed

When the seeds popped out i left the lids on (without any holes) for a couple of days taking them out for a few hours each day.
I then made some holes in the lids approx 5 x 5mm holes around the tops of the lids.

I then left the seeds like this with the holes in the lids for the next 7 days. Again taking them out of the prop lids for a few hours during daylight hours then i started leaving the lids of during the dark cycle and placing them back on the seedlings when the lights came on to start getting them used to the lower humidity in the grow room. After 10 days of using this i moved them under my 600w HPS with it around 1m away from the tops of the seedlings.
For propagation i only used a 24w 6400k T5 with arcadia reflector.

Im at a loss to be honest what im gonna do with it. lol.

I was thinking hanging it somehow or maybe standing it up in the middle of the 4 11L pots when i transplant. TO be honest i wanted it last week so i could use a little reflector and break the babies in a bit more gently but you know grow shop owners lol. (feckin stoners lol)
