4 to 5 weeks in flowering but no real "buds" yet

As the title says my plant has been in flowering about 5 weeks now. I see plenty of white hairs and lots of size but no real buds... I have a 150 watt hps light along with a couple warm cfls. I water every 2 days. Is my plant healthy? If so how long till I see real buds?

looks great, they swell a lot the last couple weeks.

I see a lot of bud there. All those white pistils will be buds.

There are floweres all over it - it looks about right for 150HPS. They likely wont be chunky and hard

Really? I've been worried that because I didn't feed it since it started flowering it wouldn't make buds. I thought I was supposed to see the actual bud

Yeah dude, that looks pretty great for a first grow. You wont see it get much taller at this point. Those white hairs will keep growing out, but soon it will also start to thicken also and put on weight... Then in the last few weeks the hairs will golden and almost tuck in, starting to look like the sweetest thing you could ever grow

That said, they look nice and dark green, which also means plenty of Nitrogen. If you start feeding it soon, make sure they are bloom nutrients. What is in your soil?

You won't have big hard chunky buds, no.

I use fox farm soil... ocean forest

that last pic looked ok, but the others look like day 14 of flower to me. ya, somethings going on. i saw some canoeing, and tip burn...

After you trim away all those fan leaves when you harvest you'll magically see it

Your soil is a little hot. You could flush with water to leech out some of the excess nutrients. I don't think I wouldn't do a total flush that gets rid of all nutrients though. too much shock for the plant and you still need some nutrients. But keep holding off on feeding until they start to lighten up a little.

And if you do want to keep that light, look into possible side lighting for this grow (if you can control the temperature).
And next grow, look into LST, Scrog, or topping methods to make the plants shorter with more top buds. That will keep more of your buds in the best light possible

Saw it, but I am looking at the plant that is dark green and possible burning at the tips...And then he said he is in fox farms soil (5 gallons), on a relatively speaking small plant...So, if I were trying to get some of that nitrogen out, I would flush...A little, but not enough to leach a ton of nutrients...

But for what I am guessing is a first grow, he is doing really well

I agree with it being really green, but if he has been using only water for the last 5 weeks, flushing it won't do anything but cause a difference in osmotic pressure. it's drinking every 2 days, i would keep doing what he has been doing.

Umm, the plant looks fine lol. When you harvest you will cut your leaves away, and that will leave you with the bud. Your plant has plenty of buds on it currently.
