40 days in to flower(PICS), my first time, how are they doing?

Hello! I'm new at this but here we go! I started a few seeds in january from a friend that used to grow, they didn't come with a name unfortunately. The room they are in is about 6'x5' and is ventilated. I have two strong moms at this point from two different seeds and have cloned several times from them. My first batch of clones is 42 days into flower in soil under a 400w metal halide. I let them veg longer than i like so they are kinda tall I guess, 2 - 2.5 feet. I'm using a little bit of Alaska fish emulsion and Alaska Bloom for flower with tap water for now. I burned them and just flushed. Some of the lower leaves got pretty nasty looking and were snipped or fell off dry. The lower third was trimmed while in veg. I am doing this mainly for fun, knowledge and to have my own smoke. I can't think of anything else right now so i hope you enjoy the pics and i welcome all comments , concerns and criticisms! :peace:

for a first time grow they look good bro +rep i would say to make sure you start flushin them with plain water about 1 to 2 weeks from the cut date and if you dry em right you will have some tasty smoke

They look alright, i could tell you had them under a small light though, they look a little light-starved. Actually, how far is your light from your tops? But the buds look pretty good. Whats your temp though? Do you have a fan blowing? Are you leaving your tap water sit open to air to eliminate chlorine? Oh and do you put any sugars into your water? It's a cheap and easy way to please your plants, and any microbes in the soil. 1 tablespoon of un-sulfured molasses per gallon will do nicely, and will give you sweet delicious herb, and a little bigger yield.

Hey thanks for the great comments! I have the light pulled up for the pictures and usually do the hand heat test when adjusting it. I have a passive intake in the floor and 4" duct fan pulling air out along with a rotating fan to circulate air. The light, fans and room altogether will have an upgrade but for now this is what I'm working with. The temps stay in the mid 70's when the light is on and mid 60's when off. I usually let the water sit out a day but am switching to distilled water because i think my tap water is way off. I forgot to mention the blackstrap molasses i use for every watering. Well i will update this from time to time with pictures and because i need all the help I can get! thanks for the help!

I'm on a budget for now so I used some generic bag soil with perlite i mixed in. Unfortunately I do not know the strain or whether it is sativa or indica. The leaves were fatter when they were younger and seem to be longer now but still some are fat (if that makes sense, lol!) If any of you could take a guess at whether its indica or sativa be my guest. Thank you for any input!

I just checked them and since flushing yesterday they still have not improved. It seems like more fan leaves are dry and crusty. I have a ph meter ordered but am winging it for now so i don't know my levels. Anyone help? I am going to do some more research in the sick plants faQ, but if anyone has a suggestion, I am all ears! Oh yeah if this helps too my plants are in one gallon to one and a half gallon pots.

My lights are off til this evening so no pics til tonight. The leaves are turning a yellow tint, getting dry and crunchy. It seams like it is moving up from the lower leaves to the top. I reflushed last night, a little more thorough this time.
