400 or 600

At the moment i am using a 600 watt hps lamp and growing 8 plants under it.
To save on elec i am considering using a 400 watt hps instead and doing 6 plants.

Would there be a difference in the yield ?

Your thoughts please xxx

a 400 watt hps only produces 50,000 lumens... a 600 watt produces 90,000... better to keep the 600

even if i do less plants under it ?

dependig on grow space and set up. as long as its nice and bright and penetrating foilage youll get a decent yield.

youll have to make the grow room smaller and yes youll prolly suffer in yield but your with two less plants but do it better than you have been you may equal your yields.

it all depends on set up and skill.
