The smell is very fruity and citrus like at the moment and the skunky smell is building more and more everyday. I smoked a blunt of the dried out trim/sugar leaves yesterday and it gave me such a nice high and actually tasted quite skunky despite that it was just some trim that dried for one day with no cure. Can't wait for a couple weeks from now to have a sample smoke of it.

Haha yeah, if there had been more of it I would've made hash with it and I save everything else but the most crystally resin covered pieces and small nugs in my freezer to make honey oil once it builds up. I have plenty of amazing buds right now too, I just figured it would be interesting to see how it smoked and I always love a nice big blunt.

Fo' sho' with it...... Wish I was smokin on some of that.

Harvested plant #3 today, amazing buds with calyxs so ripe they were ready to spout resin like a volcano. Total wet weight was 71.4 grams, not including 5 or 6 smaller buds I tossed in with the sugar leaf/trim to dry. I will post pictures of the buds hanging and weight charts tomorrow.

Also all is going great with the seeds and clones in the veg chamber, they will be ready right on schedule to start their trip into the flowering room in just over a week. Just waiting for the 4th and largest plant to finish up its massive buds and then its harvest time and the 4-XXL Big Bud plants, 2-XXX Skunk Clones, and Green Goo plant will take over the flowering room. Thanks for the kind words and glad to have ya along for the ride.

After all the journals I have read I have concluded that about 90% of people growing with little or no experience have a serious incident throughout their grow. I would say about 70% of these grows cannot recover and suffer most/total loss of all plants/bud due to mold(the worst), fert. problems, nute lock, equipment failure, etc. Of the 30% that survive and continue growing and harvest some bud. about 10-15% of them will harvest too early with low yields and will never even let the bud dry/cure long enough to enjoy the full flavor/high of their effort.

I'm glad to be in the upper(better) percentile that is able to properly grow, flower, harvest, and dry/cure. I should end up with around 3 ounces of fully ripened and fully cured headies(not including what I already smoked) and I spent just over $100 between seeds/soil/fert./tools/electricity/and replacement ballast parts(which is unusual to replace). I'm not trying to say i'm good either, i'm just happy to be doing well and hope my luck/run continues. Even my first plant which only gave me about 8 grams dried because it came down so early got a 4 day dry and about a 2 week cure, although now that has been smoked gone.

Also, just wanted to say RIU seems to get more and more quiet the closer it gets to the holidays, makes sense though everyone running around freaking about x-mas presents so bad, by the time ya get home you just smoke a fatty and pass out. I still thought their would be a lot more people interested in my journal, but the company we've had has been good though. So thanks for stopping by!!!

Sounds like you'll be getting back more than what you've invested in your grow. That's all I am aiming for, personally...an ounce or two from 4 plants. And you're patient, which is important. I've spent close to the same amount but won't flower for a couple more weeks. This is my third grow, after a few years of "retirement" my 1st grow I lost to spider mites, the second to loose lips, so I'm all about studying on RIU and doing it right this time. So far winter grow is chill! No pests to speak of yet.

How long do you plan of curing for?

I smoked most all of the first plant after just shy of two weeks curing, mostly in joints and stuff because it was a little premature. All of plants #3 and #4 and most of plant #2 will be cured for at least two weeks before I sample them but more towards 3 weeks to a month before I break into them and start using it as my regular medicine. Thats after a 5-7 day hang and dry obviously too. The guides and stuff I have read say it takes a minimum of two weeks to build the psychoactivity and base flavor but can take up to two months to get the full flavor effect. Right now theres about a half of plant #2's bud jar'd up, most of which is the top cola and it's on its 5th day of curing and had about 4 days of drying before that. Should be tasting pretty amazing by new years eve, .

It must have a lot to do with the fact that theirs a radiant heater part way inside/close to my drying room, because everything is drying almost perfectly in 3 days or less and thats with no direct fan or anything. It has gotten very cold this last week or so, so my heat has been running way more than usual so that probably contributed. Anyways, Plant #3 has finished its hang and dry and begun its cure. It's total weight went from 71.4 grams wet to 26 grams dry, with the top cola weighing in at 12 grams and another 14 grams from the other/smaller buds.

Thanks a lot guys, #3 was the blue ribbon winner so far but #4 is going to be as good or better in both yield and quality categories. I just hope I can maintain a good/constant grow pace because I just can't afford my medicine with everything else i'm paying for right now and both me and my girl need it badly.
