Thanks Bilbo. Yeah I got that meter from amazon.com. It was pretty cheap if I remember correctly. Anyway, three days until their 2 week mark. I will post pics then. Gave them a 35% dose of GH "FloraNova - Grow" today. Their soil was pretty dry considering my temps were a little bit higher than normal because my A/C blew a fuze over night and the lights were on with no cooling for at least 4-5 hours. No big deal though. The temp only got up to 84*F / 29*C, but everything is all fixed and back to normal. Bumped the light to 75% / 300 watts today also, so I'm sure they're going to love that. P.S.
I noticed that on Mango 7's fourth set of leaves instead of there being two leaves in an alternating pattern there are four instead. Is this normal? Or is this a mutation of sorts? Leaves are to small to take pics yet but will when they get a little larger.

Hey Gryz, was interested in your 4 leaf node so I did a search on it and found lots of info, its quite common and in some strains its highly valued as it means extra THC, the genetic trait was grown by med patients and has a name------POLYPLOIDY , I copied the characteristics of a Polyploid plant-----------------------------------------------
- Polyploid Traits:
- Ducksfoot
- Four sets of leaves at the nodes
- Stretched (doubled) flowers
- Dark green leaves
- Double bud sites
- Heavy feeder
- High water consumption
- Thick meristem
- Pistil discoloration (pink pistils under black light)
- Extreme potency
- Vigour and extra growth on first generation so I don't think you've got anything to worry about, just a bit of a rarity.

I will definitely keep an eye on this particular Mango. I hope she is infact a female. If not, I wonder if this is a good male breeding trait?

Hey guys, so a friend of mine gave me some seeds today. I guess his ol' lady made him get rid of them. Didn't ask to many questions, I mean free seeds, come on. It is quite a lot he gave me. I guess I'll use some for future growing. Anyway here is the list. Tell me what you think i should grow next time round.

Theyre probably all class acts Gryz, but as for my own personal experience Barneys sweet tooth is quality although I'm not sure about the auto version. DNA genetics are quality seeds and if I remember correctly Sleestack was marketed as '' Sleaze '' in many Amsterdam coffeeshops a couple of years ago, it was a great smoke which reminded me of cheese in taste.

All Mangos are doing great. some minor nute burns here and there. I'm not to worried about them though 'cuz i know i started feeding early and that is a result. Aslo I've topped Mango 4, Mango 6, and Mango 7 since they were the stretchiest Mangos in the tent. Anyway here are some pictures.

Okay, so today I decided to top all but one Mango. They're about 12cm tall and were producing a sixth node but I cut 'em at the fifth. Hopefully this will help the stretch issue with this strain. Especially since I plan to switch to 14/10 at the end of week three, then move to 12/12 at the end of week four. Just to give them a little more light in the beginning of flowering to help the lower stalks stretch, so I have some nice uniformed buds, hopefully. Anyway I will post some pics soon. Hey Gryz, had this thread subbed from the start and am watching every move, and I'm sure plenty others are. Your plants are looking great, would comment on your topping plan but I'm just having a go at topping one of mines and its the first time Ive tried it myself heres a couple of pics of how that's turning out, I topped about 2 weeks ago after the 3rd node and the plant is now about 8 inches and branching out the way you expect
you can see the branching more in the first pic, anyway Id say it was a good idea to top especially if you want to keep height down a bit.

I did plan to LST, but I think this time around I'm just going to go with topping. As for my light, I've been keeping it 20" above the base of my Mangos. Not to close not to far.
That looks really good! I hope to get simmilar results in this last week of veg for my Mangos. What strain is that and from what breeder?

TY Gryz, that is Nirvana Northern Lights now 35 days from seed, and topped above the 3rd node in an attempt to keep the final height down a bit, first time I've tried topping, and it certainly makes them smaller and bushier and ultimately easier to manage. Last time I grew Northern Lights was about ten years ago and they grow about 4 and a half feet tall with decent main colas but because of the height the low down branches were just fluffy popcorn buds, figure if I can get them to stay smaller and bushier then there will be more bud overall. Hope your mangos behave similarly man, will be interesting to see the pics as the mangos progress, good luck.

Okay so it's been a while since I've last updated anything. So there is going to be a huge jump in growth, picture wise.
There has been a lot of changes since I've last updated. I changed their nutes on May 3rd to a half and half dose of GH Floranova Grow and Bloom, along with cutting the light back to 12/12. Kept the 400 watt MH light in for the first week of 12/12 and changed to the HPS today at week 4 of growth 1st week 12/12. Aslo I changed the ratio of GH Floranova Grow and Bloom to a 1/4 of grow and 3/4 Bloom mixture today with there feeding. Here are some pictures. All questions and comments welcome.

I heard the same thing. These were regular seeds, so Im bound to have at least one male.
During my first attempts at growing I was only doing 12/12 from seed, so I never knew how long it took to show sex after turning to the 12/12 cycle.
It always took about a month to show sex under 12/12 from seed.
How long does it take after switching to 12/12 to show sex? I was under the impression that it took about 7-10 days.

I have found that it is really quite fast. 7-10 days sounds about right.
It is waiting for pre-flowers, in 24/0, that takes weeks and weeks sometimes.
I did get them though, on all five breeds and six phenos.
Someone pointed out something that did help spotting males earlier.
Male flowers often grow on a small stalk where the female flower sit more
on the branch.

Just a quick little update since yesterday. Checked on the Mangos not to long ago and some Mangos are showing some really early signs of sex.
It's ultimately to early to tell just yet. None the less some are more promising than others.
So two of my Mangos are showing very very small pistils, so I'm almost positive that they will be female. Although there is the small possibility that they hermie on me. Which is actually rumored to be common in this strain.
The two Mangos that are showing these female signs are Mango #2 and Mango #6. Mango #2 was my control in this experiment. It was the only one I did not top and if it is female, which I'm pretty sure it is, then it will be the only one transferred to a 5 gallon pot.
Mango #3, Mango #5, and Mango #7 are showing signs of being male. Sad face. lol.
Mango #1 and Mango #4 are yet to be determined, so the long time to show and the compact structure of the two, I'm hoping are signs of being female. So if all goes well, in the next couple days, after sure signs of sex, I will be transplanting to 3 gallon pots. Hopefully I will have a count of four mangos after all is said and done. well assuming that you have the potential males ID'd correctly you got a chance of 4 females, law of averages says you could expect either three or four females from your seven so that would be not a bad result. Bad luck is when you only get two from a packet of ten seeds, that was my first encounter with the weed gods.

So i just placed in a Pineapple Express, that im going to do a 12/12 experiment on with the 400 watt hps.
My temps have been pretty high lately because of a faulty Air Conditioning unit. Getting up to about 90 in the tent. Luckily I've gotten it fixed so the temps are now staying at a constant 86, but this is still a bit to high for my liking. So I'm now trying to figure out a way to cool it off a bit more without having to upgrade any fans.
I also transplanted to 3 gallon pots for mango #4 and Mango #6, and transplanted to a 5 gallon for Mango #2.
Anyway here are some pictures. Let me know what you think.
