400w or 1000w mh to veg these ladies?

Got 9 three week old seedlings under 400w mh. The pots are close together now, but the plants are beginning to grow into each other. I'm gonna have to spread them out but idk if the 400w will put out a big/strong enough light print to cover my 4x4 tent? They're (if not then damn near!) 6 inches tall and starting to bush out. Should I switch to the 1000w or is that too much light for them at this stage? Thanks in advance! image.jpeg image.jpeg

Are you planning to flower all at the same time in the 4x4?... you can use the 1000, just keep it up... have you used the 1000 in the 4x4 before?

Yeah but they're regular seeds so I'm expecting some males... I plant on flowering 4-6 hopefully! No I haven't but the 1k is air cooled and the room has an ac so I'm not worried about heat

Kinda agree with Olive Drab... stick to the 400 for now..but IMO I would top them now, leave under the 400 for a while and use the 1000 for flower...

I would top them 3-4 times, giving you 8-16 tops, lollipop em n flower em out.

I personally would use the 1000. Its an extra what $20 month? But will give you more bud n faster. Lights are expensive but pay for themself everytime...

1000 watts will grow a lot more fast then the 400 watt . are you in a rush ? then switch to the 1000 . if not run the 400 . to much light ? ( SOME THNG I NEVER HEARD . THATS TO MUCH LIGHT ) quote me on that .

More watts = more lumens means more and faster growth. Just make sure you keep the plants far enough from the bulb to avoid over-heating them.

Good luck, BigSteve.
