Hey, I' switching them to 12/12 today.

Here's what they look :

DSCN1366.jpgDSCN1368.jpg

They had veg nutes yesterday, I'm gonna switch them to flower nutes next week.

One has some kind of deficiency, I would say calmag since I've been watering with distilled water (I tought I'd be ok without extra cal mag since I'm using the soft water version of canna nutes), what do you guys think?

DSCN1358.jpg

The ones I copped are now developping more heads, just not where I had expected :

DSCN1362.jpg

They look like they recovered real quick, next time I'm gonna top them all.

@Horribleherk : I tried to clone and failed miserably yes :)

Just haven't tried it very seriously, I understand the whole pheno thing, I just don't feel like having 2 grow spaces around the room. And I don't really mind paying 100$ for seeds every grow, I'll get the chance to try a new strain every time.

Nice lookong plants. That one in the front right is a real stalky branchy one. I love it.

And on the plant you topped, it looks like you cut it too low. You cut the fresh two nodes (soon to be side branches). Your supposed to cut right above the new nodes. But sine you cut too low, the next 2 highest branches became your colas. Not a big deal, but it does basically mean you lost a week or so of veg.

Either way , im diggin it

If you can seethat picture, you want to cut just slightly below that line. But obviously when the branches are just tiny nodes

Already seeing pistills on 6/8 of them which is awesome. Most visibles are on one of those I topped just a few days ago, might have something to do with the stress :

DSCN1375.jpg

@rickymac21 : very helpful thanks. Still got 2 heads and they're recovering very nicely.

@horribleherk : 2" a day is crazy, that's some mean looking plants you got there.

Realising that those extra few weeks of vegging after the first month are really where it gets serious, plants really start to kick off at this point.

View attachment 3027530i never seem to get the topping exactly right ive cloned & got my plants in position under the screen did some pruning & supercropping which has slowed things down a bit ive always had a good female ratio using subs gear your grow is looking better all the time

Hey horribleherk, all that violence just before going into 12/12 or a few days before? Looking good!

Here's a little update, about 1 week after switching them to 12/12.

They had their first shot of bloom nutes yesterday, still 50% of canna's schedule. I also added some calmag in the mix, guy at the grow shop said I shouldn't use it for more than 2 weeks into flowering.

I'm very happy with the way they look overall, some are very bushy... plants from my previous failures were about that size by the end of 12/12 for about the same time of vegging.

DSCN1451.jpgDSCN1454.jpg

The topped ones are looking good..

DSCN1457.jpg

I trashed the male. I'm still 80% sure 6/7 are females which would be an awesome ratio. The two topped plants are reacting differently, one has the biggest pistils and the other one hasn't shown sex yet.

I've got a cheap florasun 400w MH bulb from the grow shop this week, might run some AO's for my next run to see if there's any noticeable improvement over HPS for vegging.

You guys think that's it's a good thing to let them show slight signs of underwatering before watering again? I mean it's nice that when I finally water they seem to grow 1-2" overnight but I don't want to induce uneeded stress.

Picture 089.jpgPicture 092.jpgPicture 084.jpgPicture 088.jpgPicture 085.jpghey geero i followed your suggestion & upped the power to 400w. i flipped the light 12/12 sunday & today theyre starting to show potential bud sites your idea about letting them dry out between waterings is a good one those are some healthy looking plants showing good structure the cal mag ought to green them up a bit skywalker is kind of a wimp when its young but that all changes after the flip here is todays pics

Hey geero, The plants are coming along. I'm not sure about that deficiency you have goin on there. Has the Cal-mag been helping at all?

As far as letting the plants dry out between waterings, yes. But When I grew soil I wouldn't let them droop. No desert top soil you know. hah. If it were me, I would give them a good solid watering like always, and count the days till you see the plants droop. Once you have that # you can use that to decide when to water. I would water the day before the plants start to droop.

looking forward to see these nugs. I ended up with 2 agent orange females (1 male), 1 Ace of spades female (2 males), 1 jack the ripper female, and 2 jack herer females. 6 out of 9 isn't too bad. I do wish I had another ace of spades female though. Anyways, our grows are running along the same time frame so I'm anxious. keep the pics coming.

@rickymac21, yea I'll be watching how breeding goes for you. About the calmag, I guess time will tell if that makes any kind of difference, I'm using distilled water so it sure won't hurt.

Finally saw some pistils on the second topped plant, so I'm pretty sure it's 7/7 females :hump:

Hey, just over a week after switching to 12/12 so a few days into flower :

DSCN1468.jpgDSCN1459.jpg

Two of them are really stretched compared to the others (about 5-6" taller).. one of them is on the left on the picture below :

DSCN1464.jpg

Other ones are smaller, more bushy, guessing this is the 2 phenos. Another pic of what I think are the 2 phenos, side by side :

DSCN1478.jpg

The small, more bushy one, my favorite so far :

DSCN1462.jpgDSCN1466.jpg

Group shot :

DSCN1473.jpg

Really getting crowded in there. Odor is definetely becoming an issue.

Two of them really are on the sativa side, stretching and stretching... about 20" now. That's 4-5" more than the others.

Yea no joke. That's a nice variety of phenos you have. They all look good though. Even the taller ones aren't too stretchy to be considered poor structure. Not to me anyways.

I agree with Horribleherk though. A couple of those do resemble the Querkle.

Week 2 12/12 update

The two tallest plants we're getting a bit squeezed in their 1.5 gallon pots. I got some 5 gallons smart pots on amazon, I carefuly repotted them both.

Other than that grow is going nicely, stepped up the nutes a bit at ¾ strength. They're still having calmag every other watering. Whatever the deficiency they had, it doesn't seem to get worst, no new yellow leaves and they're growing nicely.

DSCN1524.jpgDSCN1525.jpgDSCN1530.jpg

There's not a single day where I go see them that I don't regret not topping them all like this one :

DSCN1532.jpg

Comparing yields between them will be interesting.

Almost 4 weeks into 12/12

I just got a new grow tent (secret jardin dr90 2.5), very satisfied so far, very well built. 7 plants is way too much for a tent that size (3x3) but that's the kind of issue I can deal with :) Ordered it from hydroshop.ca, had an awesome service. Next grow I'll get a new cooled reflector/fan/filter (grow budget wayy busted).

Anyway...

Buds slowly getting frosty

DSCN1578.JPG DSCN1579.JPG

Calmag really helped. Some bottom leaves are slowly yellowing/falling here and there but nothing to really worry about I think, nothing like the N defiencies I experienced from my past grow during which things really went downhill from 12/12.
