Quick question for you guys. The plants are about 3 1/2 weeks old and have 4 or 5 sets of leaves. I added nutes yesterday and Im trying to figure out how much water and nutes I should be giving them. They are in 5 gallon pots, I don't think the water should be draining out of the bottom, but they seem dry already.

Hey whats up everyone. Here is a phone picture, Ill get some better pics soon. But they are doing great. They are about 30ish days from seed. Im thinking about topping two of them, I figured out the black pots are 15 liters so less than 5 gallons. If I were to top, when should I do it? And anyone who has topped before, is your yield larger? Thanks

Looking great bro! I'm subbed! Looks like you started shortly after I got my grow going. Be careful with the nutes too bro, that ffof should have lots of nutes already. Im using OF and just yesterday started with my nute regiment. I don't have much info I can give you in good conscience about topping. Haven't been down that road yet. But I can tell you first hand lst is quite effective! Good luck buddy!
Oh here is a little +rep too

THere looking very healthy! For watering, I like to get a little runoff so you know you've givin them enough! You can't over water by watering to much at one time. You over water by doing it to often. Then let them dry up pretty good in between waterings, 5 gallons take a while to dry up when there young and developing roots.

Topping is awesome and very effective, I like to start topping them young if I'm training them to be big bushes but there's really no wrong time to top as long as its in veg and you give it time to heal which it will need. How long do you plan on vegging these for again?

Thanks guys! I think I might try to lst on my next grow. Wow SmeLLyTreeZ I didn't even think about that, thats interesting you can't over water by watering too much at once. Cool, Im letting them dry for a little while at a time. When I started I was thinking about vegging for 5-6 weeks. But now Im not too sure. I actually don't even really understand when they are actually "vegging". Is it a week or two after they've sprouted? Its been about 33-35 days from when they sprouted, they all cracked one day after the other.

Yea I like to give my girls quite a bit of water until they get a little runoff on normal feedings. If you feeding at full strength you should consider doing a flush every 3rd feeding with a good amount of runoff say at least a gallon of runoff if in a 5 gal container. This allows you to flush the built up salts out of the soil avoiding nute lockout.

About vegging, yes your are correct there is a "seedling stage" that last about 2 weeks and then they go into veg where there roots are exploding and soon the plants will be to when they fill out there containers! I would top the taller ones to keep them all around the same height and if some are shorter then others lift them up so the canopy is even. This is where a scrogg technique really comes into play but thats a little more advanced :) Check out mine if you are interested though!

Yep, Im feeding at full strength for the stage they're at right now, so I will flush every 3rd feeding.

Cool, so my plants are about 3 weeks into veg. I will be topping soon. I would have loved to have used the scrogg technique. I know how it works, and the benefits, I just never really figured out how to do it. I will definitely be looking into it more for my next grow. Your plants look great! I hope I can reach that kind of level as I learn more

Finally heres an update. They are about 38 days from seed. The Acid is about 14" tall, the Nebula is a little shorter, and the Wappa is about 11" tall. Im really thinking I should top the Acid, I just need to watch a couple videos to refresh my memory. And I really need to decide when to switch to flower, got plenty of space in the room, just want to switch at the best time. I also started to notice I can see some roots around the drain holes, will this be a problem?
Thanks

1st: Wappa
2nd: Nebula
3rd & 4th: Acid

There looking great! Honestly if it where me I would top all three of them and keep vegging, when you say you have plenty of space how much height are we talking?
With that 400 you could get away with 3 beastly plants if you wanted to :)

The roots arn't a big deal just means there bottoming out. The more room you give them to veg the bigger the yield so just remember that! If you can move all of them to 5 gal buckets do it!

Anymore questions just ask, I want to see you be very successful on this so you can tell me all about the strains lol:mrgreen:

Cool, I just topped all three of them. I have a little over 7 feet of height in the room. Perfect, good to hear that the roots are fine, I might transplant one more into a 5 gallon bucket I have. Sounds good, I really appreciate all the help so far.

Here are some more pictures I took this morning after topping last night. The smaller leaf in the picture is on the Acid, and theres actually a few that look like this. But none on the other plants.

Looks like it might be slighty over fed.. Have you been flushing with straight water every 3rd watering or so? How strong have you been going with the nutes? everything looks top notch, I could be wrong it could just be a damaged leaf..

Believe it or not, Ive actually only added nutes twice. The first time was at a 1/4 strength, then ph'd water, then bumped up to what the feeding schedule considers early vegging stage. Then yesterday I watered each plant with 1 gallon of ph'd water. Possibly made a mistake going from 1/4 to early veg strength, maybe I should have went to 1/2 strength instead.

Hard to tell, the main thing is your girls look very healthy! I'm assuming your soil has quite a bit of nutes in it already because I forget what your using lol.. Either way just keep feeding them "Light" I would probably go half next time, 3/4 then full just to be safe. They will tell you what they need if there not getting enough :)
