40W T12 for veg

Will this be effective? Its a 4' fixture, one bulb is purple the other white. Will my plants veg well under this. How close can I put them? Once they veg and get a foot or so tall I plan on putting em outside to flower, will this work? Any problems with this?

by purple do you mean ultra violet? like for shirt silk screening? careful of that on the skin, eyes. etc if so. t12s work great for vegging!!!! how many you plan to fit under them? they can literally touch the plants....ultra cool... so as close as you want really but i keep mine a few inches above

Yeah I guess its ultra violet, will watch out thanks. And ok ill try getting my ladies closer to the bulbs since they're 6-10 inches away.
