The cfls are fine for the first couple weeks of veg, but if your plan on using them for flower as well then youll run into some problems. My roomate did a grow with all cfls and they where not powerful enough to make the plant transition into flower properly, it took about a month for the plant to develope bud sites. You dont want to grow through the month of veg if you cant get the plant to flower correctly. Even if you add several cfls you wont be able to get the proper light spectrum that a High Pressure Sodium light offers and are necessary to produce good buds. If you look on amazon and search 400 watt apollo grow light you can get one shipped with a digital ballast, reflector, hps and mh bulb, and two ropes to hang it all for $130. Its a cheap grow light but ive been using one for over a year now and have never had a problem and im still on the original bulbs. I average about 3-4 per plant and ive had up 6 plants in there with that one 400 watt all producing 4 ozs per plant. You can also go up to a 600 or 1000 watt for about 20-40 bucks more. Well worth it if you plan on growing but have a tight budget. Also comes with a 2 yr warrenty.
