48 hours of dark before 12-12

Plenty of people have done this due to power outages.

How massive is the plant grown for 5 months before flip?

Power outages would make sense for this happening but probably during the episode no one thought to apply it to the concept I am or recorded it....

Just makes sense to think that if dark hours increase trichome production and builds hormones to be used during light cycle; if it is never given that light cycle what's good the hormones for? Aside some trichs ripening....

Do you think I would see any differences in bud growth or maturity? I am in middle of 8th week of flowering.... Planned to harvest so cut lights, problem is if I am at the pinnacle of bud development I don't want to cut myself short.... Thought to harvest a couple and flip lights back too 12/12 to see what she does but I am not trying to ruin her either....

I would just stick with 12/12. The plants need light. If you want more trichomes you can add a uva light, it seems to have worked for us.

Bro science. Your just increasing the amount of shock put on the plant and encouraging hermie conditions. Pull the plant from veg and put the plant in 12 12 for about 4 to 6 hrs the first day to introduce it to the new lights. Let it have 12 of rest then it's first full 12 hr day.
Plant has been in flower for 8 weeks, was getting ready to harvest, they've been in dark last 48hrs I guess....was just curious about flipping lights back on after this dark cycle, holding off on chop a few more days....see what it does after the dark cycle and hormones built up.... I mean plants utilize what's done in dark for the light hours and uses light hours to be processed in dark, just seems to me after jolting it this way there could be a considerable amount of either maturity, growth, or swelling, trichome development etc idk....

Darkness IMO , allows plant to become more fragrant and allow grower the CHOICE WHEN TO CHOP.
Meaning , plants shoved in dark isolation can be “ pulled ‘‘ anytime of day or night - good for growers looking to do it after work , on weekend , etc.

I pre trim / then shove them into dark tent to begin “ drying “ out in container. I leave them that way for days - drying out. Then I chop , rudimentary hang time to finish dry time ….. recycle potted medium and move next set into tent to dry out.
Not a preferred method , but one that works for me.

BROSCIENCE about darkness exploding terp profiles and yield bumps have been around for ages. There are better ways to “ bump “ a few things in flower - like crop steering ( dry back ) methods ( some strains handle it , some hate it ) or increasing light instead of dark ( crazy huh ) like UV … that alone stimulates the plant to secrete more resin ( sunscreen as you will ) as a response to protect itself - while bumping up the frost.

My least favorite catch phrase in the growing world after "Growmie" is EXPLOSIVE GROWTH.

Is there a reason people keep thinking they can magically get plants to become monster kudzu vines of plenty? Is it something that's been popularized by fake YouTube/Insta grow culture? Why do people think there's some cosmic way to fool plants into all of a sudden doing unnatural things and why do people think they're the first to try it...because if any of that shit worked, people would already be doing it. It would be industry standard.
