48 hrs of darkness?

Is it recomended to give the plant 48 hrs of darkness just before harvest? Ive heard it is.
NOT GROWING IN SOIL. I have 1 plant in a modeified Aerogarden 3. 12/12 from seed (cfl), using XNUTRIENTS.

Anyway...thanks for the links.

There is no solid scientific fact that by doing that you increase the amount of resin on your buds. I still do it because there were instances when there appeared to be a positive difference. I still could not prove or disregard if periods of darkness prior to harvest increase resin production.

i believe that the smell and flavour of an herb are at their best in the morning, before the sun starts degrading the fresh terpenes

in other words, after a period of darkness

I cut the lights. Plan on waiting 48 hrs and harvesting.
I took a few pics before turning out lights, I'll take some more after the 48 hrs. See if I can tell a difference in appearance.
