4ft t5's underneath plants?

I know HID's have problems penatrating to the lower branches so I was just thinking... Would it be worth the time and expense to put t5s underneath the plant and on the side for the outside edges to produce more buds? Ex:

V V V V V
P P P P P P P
V U U U U V
P P P P P P P
V U U U U V
P P P P P P P
V V V V V

P=Plant
V=t5 placed vertical (short way rotated 90 degrees)
U=t5 placed facing up

The spacing in the diagram didnt come out how it was supposed to, and each V and U doesnt represent a light. They are just used to show that lights span the entire length of the grow space.

V------- V------- V --------V----- V
----P---P--- P--- P--- P--- P--- P
V--- U----- U------ U------ U----- V
---P --P---- P--- P--- P--- P---- P
V ---U----- U------ U----- U------ V
---P ---P ---P--- P--- P--- P--- P
V -------V------ V------- V------ V

like that?

it would be good and effective - but i think you are mistaken, HIDs do penetrate well, its CFLs that do not.... but regardless, the t5 flouros are a good design, just takes time and money so most people don't do it.... plus, all those t5s add up on Amps too, so some grows cant afford to add that much more to their circuit.

so watch gonna do? :P

I'm a bit lost, but if your considering supplementing your HID with flours then I say more power to you, extra side lighting is never bad (unless of course its at the wrong time or creating heat issues etc)

Thanks for the inputs. Im gunna give it a shot when I have a chance. Unfortunately, I'm not in the position to have enough plants to justify lighting at every angle.

I'm doin some research and savin up for a really awesome grow. Your replies help. Thanks.
