Hey everyone

Excited for my first post. I'm looking for some help on my first grow.

I've set up a 2x2x4 cfl box painted white. Ventilation is still an issue for me. I can keep the temp low as long as door is open and a fm is blowing inside which is obviialy not ideal.

Closed, I can get the temp to around 26 if my cfls are bout a foot way. Up close, temp jumps up to around 30c or 90f.

Everyone seems o suggest closer is better for cfls but is neon concerned about the high temps?

Looking for some advice.

Thx

As you said the ventilation is an issue, you should install an exhaust fan on the top of the box to get rid of the worm air and another fan (or a hole) for intake on the bottom. That way not only the temperatures will go down but you will get new fresh air/co2 for the plants which they need.

Anyway, the fan inside sure helps to move the air inside and move the plants to make them stronger ;)

I'll try and get a photo for you to see and I probably should have mentioned that I have two computer fans. One btw right fan and one mid to top left. Both are 120 so called 1200rpm. Not site they actually work that well and packaging is almost all in Chinese.

In a box of 90x90cm is recommended an exhaust fan to move 60CFM or 102m3/h. The fan should be able to replace all the air volume in 1-5 minutes. I was told to put my two fans in the top as exhaust, maybe you could think about that as well. The hole in the bottom would work as intake because of the vacuum effect. Also, you should know that the exhaust fan has to go on the top because that's where the worm air goes and we want to get rid of it ;)

Can't tell you what to do though, I'm still building/fixing my first box and pc case but that's the information I've got, hope it helps ;)

Ah! and if you don't have the fan inside I was talking about before, you should think about adding one.
