4x4 Gorilla grow tent - 250 watt HPS/MH set up - newbie

Is it better indoors or out because I hear good and bad things about both?

Day one!!

Started germinating with 2 plates and paper towels. 1st plate has like 8 or 10 Nurse Jackie seeds (Sativa) plus 1 random seed, 2nd plate has 5 or 6 seeds of random strains (all sativa) I liked when I was a manager at a dispensary (fingers crossed that the 2nd plate has Lemon Skunk, Ghost Train haze or possibly Chemmy Jones!!). I plan to use Fox Farm ocean soil and Fox farm nutrients. I still need to find my tent and ballast (somewhere in storage if not then I guess I'm going to the store) but I plan on starting the girls outside for the first three weeks and only the worthy will get selected for the tent. The Nurse Jackie seeds are randomized so I'm not really planning on those coming inside plus I acquired them from my new job as an Oil Extractor (there from outdoor trim), these ones more likely then not will remain outside but just incase the 6 good ones don't germ there's plan B. They could turn out male also.. So my main focus is the 5 or 6 seeds because they are 30-35% THC but to get the best results out of the tent I plan on picking the sexiest 4 girls. Once I have those 4 selected and in the tent, I plan on "topping" them. Ill start taking pictures once the girls germ and get put in pots. Its been about six years since I've grown anything so pray for me y'all!!

You need more watts in a 4x4, the title , 250w 4x4 ??
You really should think about upgrading to 600w -1000w

Good luck

It has nothing to do with growing trees. 250watt is nothing for that surface,
He's using 1,5 square meters and the bare minimum per square meter is 400-600 watts so for 1,5 you're looking at 600-900 watts.

Do wish you good luck and i will be following.
I use a 250 for literally 1 plant and it's just barely big enough.

Alright so after reading the feedback I took y'alls advice and did some research, hopped on Amazon and saw some kits for 600 watts going for $129 which is alot better then I remember them being 6 years ago. I get paid on Wednesday so hopefully I can order it then. One question I have though is should I still be using the 250 or just remove it from the equation entirely?

The one on Amazon isn't 600w. You need to do more reading before wasting your money. GL

Be careful with what they write. You should look for a light that really uses 600 watt. The one on amazon is probably around 150-200 actual watts so be carefull. Once you get it tho you could use both at the same time. But it would be useless for just 2 or 3 plants unless your going to scrog and really keep them in veg for 2-3 months in order for them to be huge, otherwise it would still be a waist of energy.

Thank you all for the support!!
And you're welcome, if you have any more questions feel free to ask anytime.

There is a hps/mh 600 watt kit made by ipower for $129 on Amazon with a 10% discount coupon code thingy but that one has a wing and I'm worried about the heat so now I'm looking at the hooded one for $151 plus I spotted a ventilation kit (6 inch inline fan, ducting and a carbon filter) for $94.

Oh ok, i thought you were talking about LED. If it's hps then your ok with 600 watts :) Try to get both a MH and HPS tho. MH for Veg and HPS for bloom. Just HPS is possible but by using HM for Veg you're able to keep your plants a lot shorter and more compact.
