I have stepped up my game, and went and got myself a legit setup. For years I have dicked around with crappy outdoor grows(throwing seeds into the ground) and stringy CFL plants. So I went ahead and got a 4x4 grow tent, 600 watt hydrofarm reflective hood w/ glass plate and 6 inch ducting holes on either side, 600 watt hps light, proper ballast, 6 inch 400cfm fan to keep the light n hood cool, which is exhausting out the top of my tent. I Got another 4 inch inline fan pushing cool air into the tent, and one 16 inch oscillating stand up fan to move air around. Got the electronic thermometer n humidity gauge, n timers. I was recommended the General Organics Go Box, which has everything I need from start to finish. I used Fox Farm soil.

I got 10 clones from the club. 3 jedi kush, 2 bull rider, 1 blue dream, 1 jupiter kush, 1 white kush, 2 edelweiss. I have been giving them a 18/6 light cycle. Feeding them when the soil is dry an inch or two down. They are almost two weeks into the soil from their cloning cubes. They seem to be growing steady and solid except for one, but there is almost always a runt. I have been applying different LST, supercrop, FIM techniques. I want to keep the canopy low and lush!

The temps inside the tent have been high 70's to low 80's during the hottest part of the day. We have had unusually hot weather lately so hopefully it cools down.

I plan on kicking them into flower in a week n a half or two. At that point I will purchase the proper carbon filter to keep things legit, and transfer the ladies into 5 gallon pots.

Here are some pics. I will update regularly. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated as this is my first legit setup.

looks good to me. carbon filter is the same thing. I've never really used one tho, being "legal" and what not i'm not too worried about smells.

I see. Well, I've been doing exclusively outdoor for a few years now and thinking about setting up an indoor almost identical to yours. I live in what they call a duplex or "half double" so I have a neighbor connected to the side of me. 1) smell permeating the walls and 2) the noise of all the fans going. Have you tried doing without the 2nd 4" fan and relying on passive air intake?

Man I feel like a noob again over here in indoor.:dunce:

ya i have neighbors too. The 6 in fan is not too loud. I am thinking about getting the regulator for it so i can turn it down a bit. It keeps the hood super cool already, and i dont think turning it down a bit will be a problem (quieter/energy saved). I will be experimenting. The little 4 in fan is silent. Right now i keep the door open to bring in fresh air cause it does not smell. I wont start running the little 4 in intake fan till i have to keep things sealed up during 12/12. I bought a window unit ac too, so i can regulate the hotter temps down here. As far as the smell is concerned i will be getting the best carbon filter i can, and just keep the tent closed as much as possible. We shall i see. I am gonna put em into flower next week.

Here is an update! These guys are twenty days into veg from clone. The Blue Dream n 1 of the Jedi Kush are growing much faster. Gonna throw them into flower soon! Will post more soon! Most have responded well to the (LST) n (FIM). All have multiple tops now, so I will probably let them grow out.

Do you have your fan hung with bungee cords? that cuts the sound in half... also, personally I find that the speed regulators are making the fan louder when the speed is lowered

Hey thanks for the reply. Right now my fan is hung with some strong rope. I will have to try the bungee cord idea! The speed regulator is helping right now, it definitely keeps the sound down, and right now with no carbon scrubber attached, there is no need for the full 400cfm. It pulls fresh air in, and keeps the hood plenty cool right now on 70% power.

We are at the 3 week veg mark!! Due to time constraints and space I am switching to 12/12 today. Gonna transplant into bigger pots today. Will post more pics.

Subbed. You have 10 plants but you are using 1x600 watt light? You will run into some of your plants not getting sufficient lumens from your light. You should have vegged less.

Ya i know I got greedy, but I just supercropped the taller ones. I've got the canopy nice, bushy, and even right now. We shall see how it goes....

Subbed, I've got a similar setup. 4x4 room, 6" vented hood, 4" inline with a scrubber, ac, and heater. How are you dealing with air exchange? Your inline is pulling in or exhausting? Mine sounds like a jet taking off. Good luck

Sry I saw that you already posted it. Any problems with the positive pressure? Im still trying to find the best ventilation setup. Without proper air exchange co2 is lowered i assume. Bringing in co2 is a bit much IMO

I got it set up like this now

Air from inside the tent is being pulled through my carbon filter

IMG_1300.jpg
Then it goes through my 6" air cooled hood
IMG_1301.jpg
then the 6" 400cfm fan takes that air and pushes it out the top, and then out a window
IMG_1302.jpg
As far as replacing the air.... I have a small 6" 160cfm fan that pushes fresh air into the tent. Honestly though I have not even had to turn that thing on because the 6" 400cfm sucks so much air up through the carbon filter (even at 70%), that it naturally pulls in air through the small fans ducting.
