Hey guys just need to know if what I have going on is over crowding. As of right now under my 1000 watt blockbuster hood I have 7 plants in 5 gallon containers that I put in 12/12 a week ago. 4 of them are sensi northern lights and 3 are barneys lsd. They are currently a bit above 12 inches tall, even canopys (which im sure the lsd will stretch a bit more than the northern lights) and I veged them for a month and 6 days under fluros. There is still movable room inside and room for my oscalating fan. Do you think its over kill or manageable? Sorry but im an outdoor grower just getting into the indoor game. Hoping for the least, one pound. Thanks!

GOT PICS :??: I would be able to tell you if you where by looking at any pictures.. I would say if your just running 7 ladies in a 4x4 then you'll be just fine. All depends on how big they are really.

I have a 4'6"x4"6" but light is only a 600 watt and by the time everything streches 7 is about all it can take.I have run up to 9 but I lose alot because Ijust don't get enough light penetration.with the bigger light this may not be a problem for you but I have definitly found that less is usually more in most aspects of indoor growing.Take all this for what it is worth because i have only been indoors for about a year myself but it has given me plenty of tme to mess stuff up...lol... then figure out what works for me.

I would suggest adding atleast 1 more light in that case. ;) More light is always good.. haha I am doing a pheno hunt now myself. Running higher #'s using a 600 watt HPS, 400 watt MH, and also 800 watt LED system. Hadn't ran into any issues with over crowding all that much past grows. ;) of course on occasion I have had to trim a little here & there.

7 5 gal buckets in a 4x4? Wow, you might be able to "move around" in there now, but you won't by mid-April.
yeah 7 5 gals sure does seem like alot... I generally run either 4 or 5 in the 4 x 4... 4 weeks in, the monsters barely have enough room for a fan. (I top multiple times in Veg)... are you running them all single stalk?

That sounds pretty cramped. Unless you are growing small straight up and down plants which would not be very efficient in a tent. I would recommend 2-3 max in a 4x4. Tried running 5
Plants in my 5x5 and it's a little too much. Gonna cap my 5x5 tent at 4 plants.

Also the only way you will hit a pound in a 4x4 tent is with one mabye two big scrogged plants that fills the entire tent . In my opinion Tents are awesome for small batch high quality grows and they can take a little time to dial in. I don't think they are they best for production and can be problematic when completely stuffed full of plants

Yep. 4 plants in 3 gal smart pots will fill up a 3x3 tent. With only 16sf of floor space, using 7 buckets only gives each plant a little over 2 sf of area, not much when those babies start getting bushy and fat with buddage, let alone there be room to "move around". Just my opinion.

A picture would certainly make it easier to answer your question. I used to run 6 plants packed on 3x4 under 600w and recently upgraded to 4x4 cause I wanted/needed more space. Tried 9 plants on 4x4 but got a little too crowded even with minimal vegging (hydro) so went back to 6 plants and my canopy is now 4x4. I use clip fans attached to the walls so it doesn't require floor space. I'd be more worried about height with 7 plans. Need to have enough height for the light and plants which stretch more when crowded. The latter is why it's important to make a decision now, before the final grow spurt occurs, i.e. remove a plant or trim some branches or leave it as it is.

I've been going back and fourth between 4 or 6 myself. This is my first grown in a 4'x4' tent under a 600w. My last grow that was a different location I grew in 5 gallon grow bags and had plants about as tall as me, about 6'. I don't think the 5 gallon is neccasary, I think I am going to be doing 3.5gal hempy buckets. I have 4 Bubba OG seedlings vegging now, and 10 bagseedlings. I was originally goin to try to do 9(!) but realized this wasn't practical, especially when growing from seed. I think I settled on running the 4 Bubba's, possibly making an exception if 1 or 2 of the bagseedlings really starts to impress me, then maybe 5 or 6. I would hate to regret crowding my good genetics for a couple bagseedlings that god knows how long will take to finish, or possibly hermie/pollinate my crop : )

i have 4 larger plants perpetual in my 4x4 with a smaller 12/12 from seed. Have had 6 in there and I think It is too crowded with the length I usually veg (5+weeks) Still with the 5 I have in there now I could strategically place a clone or 2 no veg time single cola style.
