4'x4'x7' Tent with 600watt hps/Hempy Buckets: How many plants?

So I can't decide exactly how many plants I want to do in my tent.

I currently have 12 bag seed seedlings and 4 Bubba OG Kush Seedlings in veg. The bagseedlings are over 3 weeks old, the OG just popped. I plan on experimenting with the bagseedlings before I do anything with my Bubba Og Seedlings(I am going to lst one, top one, fim one, etc.).

I will be running 100%perlite hempy buckets with GH FloraNova line.

My initial idea was to do 9 in 2gal. buckets, and that might work once I have some mothers and I am able to take clones that I can flower at 6"-10" tall,

My second idea is to do 4 in 3.5gal buckets, at least for this first go around with the Bubba OG. I'll let it pretty much do it's thing and after the first round I'll have a pretty good idea of how this strain performs.

What would you guys recommend? What are some of your experiences? If your in a 4x4 tent I'd really like to get your input.

Thanks and stay classy.

see the 600w footprint as your area, I do 9 plants in 3 gallon soil pots in 3 months to 3 feet high, your bagseed will have the males removed to reducing your selection further, aim for 9-12 female plants ..but keep the kush center of your play

Thanks for the reply, that's what I think I'm going to do, the 9. If the bagseedlings end up being a bust or I only get a couple females I might just run the 4 Buuba OG in 3.5-5gallon hempys, only time will tell at this point.

What have other people done in their 4x4 tents? I'm running Hempy's/container style handwatering. Looking for # of plants and size of pots people like. I know there is going to be differing opinions on this, just let me know what has worked best for you, or your opinion on the matter?

unless they are small plants 9 is going to really be tight. you would be better of with 6 or 4 even. i have 6 in a 4'x4' space right now and wish i had done 4. they are about 3' average and in 3 gal pots at about 18 days of flower. next time i will go with 4 in 5 gals as i think the 3s are small. to be fair it is a 3'10"x3'10 when measured not quite 4'x4'. i could not imagine trying to crush 9 in the space unless i bloomed them at 6".

if you plan on blooming clones when they are small more would fit but going from seed to finish they get to large to do any more than the 6 i have.

Hmmm, this is what i keep going back and fourth with. The more I think about it, the more I want to plant the 4 Bubba OG into 5gal hempy buckets. I really don't care about the bagseedlings. There were more for testing the new space/conditions. I didn't want to go straight into an unfamiliar environment with such expensive genetics. Now that I am comfortable with how everything is running I believe I will flower the 4 Bubbas in 3.5-5gal, taking at least two clones from each right before.

I'll see what phenos I like, select a mother from one or two of the clones, and maybe in the future be able to do more plants in a SOG fashion. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense to just do 4. The most I'll do is 6 if for some reason a couple of the bagseedlings really start to impress me in veg, we'll see.

Thanks for the reply man, I really appreciate it.

I have the exact same size tent under 1000w. I started out with 6 lost 1 and now im doing 5. Im not mad about it though. Just more space for the others :)

listen to vosok. now you will loose plants to being male so start with 9 and you will end with 4-6 females.

bag seed will be less females and wow 1000 watt in a 4x4 now that is serious power right on.

Thanks dude! Yeah I have all femi so im.not planning on getting any males started 6 planned on 4 got 5 :) from seed under 1000 mh

I've thus far done 4, 5 & 6 in a 4x4
6 seems to be the best mix in as far as time & space for a Scrog anyway....
I'd bet anything between 4-7 will work for a 4x4
