5 1/2 ' X 6' Closet Grow - 600w or 1000w .. ??

OK guys, 5 1/2' by 6' closet grow. Making the Light purchase today. I was leaning toward a 600 watt cool tube. Will vent thru small door Access to Jacuzzi that the plumbing runs thru a good size whole to underneath the house which has raised floors. It's will be only about a 9 foot run from cool tube to underneath the house.. OK, my cuz(growing legally) in Cali is telling me to purchase a 1000 watt for that 5 1/2' x 6' Room.Should I consider that or is that extra energy I'm using NOT really going to gain extra growth and yield from? I already have 2 DP blueberry, 2 SLH, 1 C99 (Female Seeds), EVA Seed Veno, G13 MK Ultra and G13 BLueberry gum about at a month old and outgrowing my AERO Garden (without the water tank, just in Pots) and dual 48" Gow light Florescent Combo. Thanks for any mentoring insight, Ohh and ALL have been topped after the second set of leaves ala "Uncle Ben" tm Method....!!

Nice Looking Plants and setup GawdSON..!! I'm guessing you are using an Inline Fan to vent off the Heat from your cooltube?

I'm ready to pull the trigger right now on a light Kit on AMAZON.com, just UNSURE which Wattage to go for, 600watt or 1000watt.
Either way I'm getting a DIMABLE ballast....

Sure would hate to just be wasting ELEC and generating heat if I'm NOT going to benefit from it. Anyone Else have any thoughts for this Size grow area, I'm ready to purhase in the next couple of hours after some input from my homies here on the RIU board ?

I have been using a 600w in a vented reflector and was very happy with it. Flowering 4 or 6 plants at a time and getting good light coverage. Now a friend of mine has convinced me to borrow his 1000w.... so I got it all set up and we will see if the yield is worth the extra electric costs.

I use 600's especially for a closet grow (because of temp) although a large closet. I too just bought two 600's with dimmable ballast but did not get the cooltube. However I still have my lights within 8 inches. I don't have a temp issue so that helps. The cool tube is probably worth the extra moey though. I'd be afraid the 1000 might produce too much heat although your closet is pretty good sized and with appropriate ventilation you should be OK.

If you're going to fill the space with plants, get the 1k. That space is a little too big for a 600, imo. Since you plan on getting dimmable anyway, there's no reason not to get a 1k.

Personally I would stay away from the cool tube, and get a coolable hood instead. They are a little more expensive, but have a much better light output, and cool just as easily.

I like my results with 600's but he may be right with a closet that big you might need two 600's thus making the 1000 more economical.

I would use 1000 watts in a closet that size.
