5 gal home depot buckets

I'm slowly getting things I need for my set up and was wondering if the orange buckets are ok to use

I like the silver lowes buckets myself I think they are lil more reflective and opaque.Or less see through what ever you wanna call it.

Yah they are fine to use. I prefer black...but, that is just me. Don't forget to punch some holes for drainage.

Dont use them without coating the outside in foil tape(better, cheaper, more reflective), or duct tape. I just finished making a couple of these bucket systems(both dwc and cloner versions) with the HD buckets and had to double layer the outside of bucket and lid. Light comes right through all the home improvement buckets. If you want one that's lightproof already, you need to spend more than $2 on a bucket.

As long as yer growing inside what's the diff? Do you sleep any better on white sheets than colored? Does your toilet paper work any better if it's patterned or scented?

Ok I was wondering why darker ones were used, so as long as I do something to keep light from entering it will work better?

Another question I want to run 8 buckets with 3 sprayers in each what size pump would be adequate enough to work properly

I double up the buckets the Inside bucket I drill holes on the bottom and all around the sides and I place it in another bucket to catch run off

Im hookin it up with pvc inside with sprayers with a drain in the bottom for run off back to the reservoir

Run off? This is the hydro section?

Dont use home depot buckets unless you do something to make them light proof, spend a couple bucks more and get darker color ones else where(walmart even has blue ones that are far more light proof then those thin orange ones from depot.

Oh ok... I'm thinking I might end up going the pvc fence post route just got to figure it out I'm bouncing back and forth

Yes, my toilet paper works better patterned due to it being 2 or 3 ply. And it being scented makes me feel better about wiping my ASS!
Yes, I sleep better on white sheets too...that way I don't see the stains! LOL!:hump:
